the Night before Christmas, is still the best for me

Do you wanna party? Its party time!
Right now for me its Its a Wonderful Life which just barely edges out A Christmas Story. Both are fantastic, wonderful and awesome Christmas films. Other favorites are Gremlins(1984) and Die Hard(1988). As you can see, I don't normally like standard X-Mas films, although I've seen and enjoyed all of the X-Mas animated short TV specials as well.

A Christmas Story

I'm gonna go with Elf, currently. Will Ferrell is hilarious, Zooey Deschanel is adorable, and it's got Bob Newhart! What more could you want?
That's a good one as well, even though the final act descends into cheesy cliches. Still the humor overall is pretty sharp and Ferrell wandering around NYC in an elf suit is hilarious in itself. Zooey is indeed very pretty-she's one of the most adorable actresses working today. I also liked Ed Asner as Santa, and yeah Bob Newhart was good as Poppa Elf.

Is that The Nightmare Before Christmas?

Nice picture!!! Actually this movie has great story for being different than others Christmas movies. The concept of having Halloween people want to experience once in a their whole life of having Christmas in their life......

I'm going to have to vote for a little-known Mexican movie called Santa Claus.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053241/

It's a Loose Change style demolition of the Father Christmas myth. Far from being a jolly old elf who resides at the North Pole with a gaggle of happy elves, Saint Nick is actually an Orwellian overlord running a child labour sweatshop from out of his orbital ice palace. He observes your every movement, he can read your very thoughts and he can even peep inside your dreams. There's no escaping him, innocent or guilty, naughty or nice we are all stripped to our naked souls and scrutinized mercilessly.

Did I mention he has eerie mechanical reindeer? Well, he does.

Into this bleak dystopian vision of Christmas comes Satan, Lord of Hell who attempts to ferment rebellion in the people of the world, which Santa Claus (with the aid of Merlin) soon manages to quash. There's some sort of socialist propaganda mixed up in there too, but once you start stripping this movie down to symbolism you're liable to get lost and never return.

Part Calvinist allegory, two parts pure madness Santa Claus manages to accurately capture the true spirit of Christmas, at least in my house. A beautiful, perfect muddle with a dark undertow that'll suck you down if you dwell on it too long and definitely better than anything Tim Allen's put out.

a Christmas Story

I am totally obsessed with both versions of How the Grinch stole Christmas and I can't wait to watch it this month on ABC Family's 25 days of Christmas. Tonight they are showing Twas the night before Christmas and I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus which are both fun watches too!

I bet most people will remember Kevin in Home Alone. He is bratty but such a cute and clever kid.

I grew up watching the original version and it's still my favorite...

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heel.
You're as cuddly as a cactus,
You're as charming as an eel.
Mr. Grinch.

Chicks dig Lord of the Rings, Randal
I can't believe I forgot about Grinch, I'm not changing my vote from Christmas Story, but the original is a classic as well.
