I have Maborosi on my watchlist, sounds like something I'll enjoy. What did you think of Shoplifters?
Haven't seen Shoplifters yet, but it's near the top of my list. I'll wait till January for the 2020 challenge.

Another Wyatt Earp film. This is about the aftermath of the Shootout at the OK Corral - the famed vendetta ride. I like Garner and Robards but the movie was just ok.

Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice (2019)

Linda Ronstadt's was one of the premier voices in popular music of the past 60 years. She also had the unique ability to tailor that golden voice to many different musical styles: folk, rock, country, jazz, traditional pop, Mexican folk, and even operetta, winning awards in all styles.

Her performance style was characterized by forgoing razzle-dazzle and theatrics in favor of promoting attention to her marvelous voice and song interpretations.

This documentary is a well done biography, taking us from her Tucson roots through to her unfortunate retirement in 2011 due to the loss of her singing ability to (PSP) progressive supranuclear palsy. She has sold over 100 million albums, making her one of the biggest selling artists of all time.

Doc's rating: 7/10

Six Underground -

Somehow, the straight-to-Netflix action movie starring Ryan Reynolds, written by the guys who wrote Deadpool and Zombieland, and directed by Michael Bay didn't turn out to be very good.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019)

Saw this in theaters, but I rented it to rewatch it with my wife. Same rating as I originally gave it, and it's probably a top 5 movie of the year for me. The ending seems to make or break the movie for people, and its the former for me.

Lonesome Cowboys (1968)

I watched this Andy Warhol movie because it's on the current westerns list, and I'd say it's the worst one on there. We got gay cowboys but this ain't no Brokeback Mountain. I like the grainy look but that was about it. Just pretty much a crappy movie. It was even boring.

The ending saved it. Some of these classics I don't get. I feel the same about this as I did The 400 Blows.

That movie is a masterpiece, by the master - Vittorio De Sica.

"400 Blows" is really good.

Lilya 4-Ever (2002) Drama

A coming of age drama about abandonment, poverty, rape, sex trafficking, and suicide. Lilya is a gorgeous sixteen-year-old girl from an undisclosed former Soviet Union country, abandoned by her mother in the first scene. A Swedish movie with Russian as the main language, directed by Lukas Moodysson and starring Oksana Akinshina. This movie will make you fall in love with Lilya, and then torment your heart and soul with how harsh reality can be. If you like sad movies, gritty realism, and a powerful drama based on true events, then this is the movie for you. The cinematography gives it a realistic edge. My personal favorite movie, an obscure gem that never got a wide release. This must be at least the 10th time I've watched it.

I haven't talked about it much until recently. I guess I kind of wanted to keep it a secret until I finished my top 100 or something.
