Anyone who's watched this have any opinions on it?

The idea of putting Sherlock Holmes in Modern Times with Lucy Liu playing a female Dr. Watson is interesting and all, but sounds a little strange.

I've always assumed that it was because, a) it rids the property of the homoerotic overtones which may well wreck it's chances with some people and, b) so the possibility of a relationship can be played on and, lastly, just to have some gender reversal for the role of Watson. "It's modern now."

A modern day Sherlock has been done before (not just when they were first published, of course) but this is very successful, IMO.
