James Bond: Quantum of Solace (a.k.a. Bond 21)

thought I'd chime in about how much I really love the title when I think about what they're doing with Bond. I've seen the trailer twice now, and it's obvious they are still telling the story of Bond in ways we've never really had before. Bond was always Bond... he didn't seem to have a past or motivation other than his job. This title is all about him taking/getting ? comfort for all the pain he suffered in the first film.

I'm still so amazed at how great Craig is in this role. I hadn't even heard of the guy before Casino Royale.

\m/ Fade To Black \m/
This is looking like another awsome bond flick Daniel Craig is great as Bond.

I've been watching a lot of Sharpe, a British TV series of the 1990s, that tells the story of a British officer in the Napoleonic wars in Spain and Portugal. Sean Bean stars in it. (I have this thing for him, you see.)

Anyway, I was watching the second episode titled "Sharpe's Eagle" and there was this bully of a guy who was dead set on killing Sharpe. I thought he looked rather familiar....

In case you're wondering, later in the episode, Berry (Craig) tries to kill Sharpe in the woods and Sharpe's handy right-hand man, Harper, stabs him in the back.

Thanks, Destiny! I see that the "uk" is the problem, and to be honest, I don't get why I have a "uk" in my youtube links anyway, but when I got there, that's what I get.

I'm in America, not the UK! *confused*

I like James Bond movies.
It takes some time to adjust to new James Bonds.
I wonder if anyone here can name all the movies without looking?
Or name all the different James Bonds?

there's one guy I can't remember -- he only made one, but I think I can name them off the top of my head:

Sean Connery
Roger Moore
Timothy Dalton
Pierce Brosnan
Daniel Craig

Connery and Craig are the best, imho.

Hey tramp!
That's pretty good.
There is always one guy that people forget.
Sean Connery is my favorite too.

I am half agony, half hope.
George Lazenby was the first Bond.

I'll be the first to admit that when Craig was announced as the new Bond that I was upset. He's so rough around the edges! Then I saw the movie and understood that this was when he had just become a 007 and it all made sense and I thought he was perfect. I'm looking forward to this.

I thought George (couldn't remember his name till you said it) was the first one, too, but according to wikipedia, he starred as Bond after Connery and before Moore. Lists the film being made in 1969.

I hadn't realized that Connery was first after all...

And I agree with you about Craig. I saw a pic of him and was like, "what???" But after seeing the film, well, I was smitten. He's great. I was bored with Bond before he came along and now I'm rather excited about seeing this.

Yeah, he's exciting as Bond. While he was making the film, the radio station I listen to kept giving reports from the set about Daniel Craig being unable to drive the Bond car, getting injured, and complaining about the stunt work. That might have colored my initial impression when I heard he'd got the job. No worries, he embodies Bond well. And since we're sharing, I like a rougher, grittier Bond.

The plot is sort of simillar to it's earlier preceedors, On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Licence to Kill. In my opinion the Bond films are fantastic and I am going to see it opening week, but would it ever stop? Does Bond die somewhere like he almost did in Casino Royale? But yet, I can't wait for it to come out. Daniel Craig has the most interesting role for Bond, which makes it even better.

I can't wait for this one I just love a good action movie

I like James bond movies and the games so ill most likely want to buy the new movie since it should be good. When it comes out on dvd i might go to the store and buy it and then go home and watch it a bunch of times. just like i said it should be good.

Well, i can name all the Bonds etc but pretty redundant as no proof it's off top my head. Quite surprised people thought George Lazenby and OHMSS was the first Bond! Glad that films getting recognised as one of the better Bonds now, remember a time when it was cited as awful, despite being pretty good.

I always get the willies for the new Bond film, not sure what it is with this one that's not quite got to me. Think might be the new seriousness of it and uncanny resemblance to Bourne. Nevertheless, sure when TV spots start i'll be gagging for it. Still not tired of Casino Royale yet and in the mood for Goldeneye atm.
