I saw Gunslinger mention this in a thread about the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie and decided to look it up - this is about a long-scrapped Superman remake, but it's hilarious enough to be worth a read. This sounds more like a "Scary Movie" type parody than something that was ever seriously considered.

The guy is a hack anyways.
He got lucky with Batman and Batman Returns, and it's all down to Burton's work, not his own input. Burton's.

Any decent movie he's been part of, has not been down to his work... it's been down to the work of the people around him.
When he's given a lot of control we end up with the Sandman scripts and Superman scripts that left the productions in hiatus and near killed the franchises... in fact, Sandman is a dead franchise... and we end up with other crapfests like Wild Wild West and Superman Returns.

He saw his dream come to life in Wild Wild West with a mechanical spider in the third act... and how good was that movie exactly?

At least in MOS he was only exec producer. That means he put in a handful of cash and maybe hung around on set in the corner while they were shooting.
