Dead End 2 is a straight to DVD, isn't it? Anyway, it's one of those sequels that's better than the original.

Actually I watched it and its a bit gorrier than the first one but it's nothing special looks like the Hills have eyes (it's exactly the same)

The word is, according to Michael Bay himself, that the studio is dragging their heels with a Transformers (Filmstalker review) sequel, and with that Bay is off.

It seems that Michael Bay is not one to hang about and would rather be working, and so he may well try and get another film made before the studio get into gear.

According to the man himself on the Shoot For the Edit Forums he says:

“Transformers 2', well that's another story. Iching [sic] to work pre-strike (June) so I might jump ship and come back a year or so later cause people at the studio have been dragging for two months. Not sure why. I'll keep you informed.”

The comments on Shoot For the Edit come through Superhero Hype, and they are from Michael Bay himself.

Pirates of the Carribbean 4 is added to the list for an upcoming release date, as well as New Line Cinema and HBO Films' 'Sex and the City' which is set for release on May 30, 2008.

It was a suprisingly good film i thought, not got the intensity or brutality of Hills Have Eyes but was more tongue in cheek. Henry Rollins tore it up.

Unless I missed these on your list . . .

Sequels:

Beverly Hills Cop IV (2009)

There has been talk about The Breakfast Club, but I don't know if it will ever go anywhere.

Remakes:

The Thing, The Birds, and Strangers on a Train.

Here we are....

The Birds (Remake) will be July 3, 2009.

Beverly Hills Cop IV is in pre-production and set for sometime in 2009. Eddie Murphy is on board with Lorenzo di Bonaventura (1408, Shooter) as producer.

The Breakfast Club sequel??? A simple rumor.

The Thing, originally planned a Sci-Fi-Channel mini-series a loooooong time ago, was planned as prequel to the original from Strike Entertainment ("Dawn of the Dead" remake). The company had been searching for a writer (or writers) to pen the screenplay since early 2005. No word on ever since. I'll keep you posted on that.

And finally at Warner Brothers, the studio had been planning a new version of Strangers on a Train, based on the Patricia Highsmith novel that was the basis for the Hitchcock film. As of now there is no release date set, only that it is set for sometime in 2008. (Subject to change).

Thanks Destiny.

I heard some news on The Thing remake, think maybe on horrorsnotdead.com but sounded promising. Think plan was to set it at Norwegian base as a prequel leading into the Carpenter film, which as premises go i can live with. Better than hacking it up like Halloween recently.

Yes, it's been said awhile back as a prequel. Unfortunately no further news is known (at least to me).

I'll let ya know...but Pyro , or anybody else , if ya get further info just post it.

Aw, a remake of The Birds, for my birthday. Can I send it back!?!

I can handle a prequel just fine. They just need to stop remaking the man's movies. His and Hitchcock's.
