Lena Headey Broke: Game of Thrones' Queen Cersei Has Less Than $5 in Bank Account

Could it be that Queen Cersei has fallen on hard times? Actress Lena Headey, who has breathed life into the scheming, filthy-rich on-screen villain for the past two seasons of HBO's hit show Game of Thrones (and helped to kick off the third season on Sunday, March 31) is reportedly nearly broke, with just $5 in her bank account.

The British star, 39, split from husband Peter Loughran last year, and the couple is currently in the midst of a legal battle over how to split their joint $46,000 tax refund from 2011.

In the legal documents, Loughran is demanding half of the money -- Headey, meanwhile, is asking for an emergency $6,000 advance from the communal funds in order to get by and help support the couple's 2-year-old son.

The actress is reportedly so down on her luck that she has "less than $5 in her bank account," TMZ reports.

According to the documents, Headey claims that she is currently living off credit in order to make ends meet. She says she would be willing to allow Loughran $6,000 from the tax refund as well, but wants the remaining $34,000 kept in a blocked bank account until the couple can reach an agreement about how to divide the money.

Unfortunately for both parties, however, a judge on the case has denied both Loughran and Headey's demands, leaving the Game of Thrones actress in the same apparent dire straits that she had been in before.

How on earth is she that broke anyway... don't these people put away money for future use? Really don't get how these people get into so much trouble when it comes to money.

If true.

I suspect you get sucked into a lifestyle. I can remember Vinnie Jones talking about how he pays $100 to someone to walk his dog. He said himself that he can't believe he does it and that the pre-Hollywood him would've thought he was a prat for doing it, but that you just fall into it. $75 for this, $50 for that and, before you know it, you're spending a grand a week on nothing.

I know that doesn't account for this, but it's an example of how easily and friviously money escapes from your account and how you become accustomed to it without really noticing. No throw in taxes, agents and managers, the business of being in Hollywood, clothes, transport, trainers, skin care and God knows what else.

Of course, this is just cash that's mentioned here. If you're getting divorced there's plenty of very clever, very well paid people, who are highly skilled at making all that disappear.

Well, she still young so she can work a lot. Also, not having money on her bank account doesn't mean anything given that she is at nearly the peak of her career which means that the flow of money into her account is very robust.

A serious problem would be if her account dries after she retires.

Yeah I was just thinking that, she probably has money stashed away elsewhere. I can't believe she that stupid that she has no money at all...
