Cricket's top 100 horror movies

With my wife hogging the TV all morning, I figured I'd also get into the spirit and put my favorite horror list together. Like everyone else(except Mark), there's still plenty that I need to see, and want to see.

There's a bunch of movies that I could've included, but I consider them to be less horror, than something else. These movies include Aliens, Jaws, The Sixth Sense, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, The Silence of the Lambs, Zombieland, They Live, The Hidden, Species, Duel, Videodrome, The Girl Next Door, Shawn of the Dead, Ebola Syndrome, Altered States, The Devils, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, I Saw the Devil, Kill List, and more. Whether or not some of these movies belong on a horror list is debatable, and whether or not some of my choices belong on a horror list is probably debatable too. It's just a matter of perspective.

I'm just touching up the order, then I figure I'll bang out 4 sets of 5 for 5 days. If anybody finds something new to watch, and they enjoy it, it's all worth it.

I'm + repping that post just for all the 'horror' you've, quite rightly, left off your list.

Go to it, my good man!

Rep because it's cricket.
I know. I have mostly avoided the horror lists but if cricket is making a list I will pay attention.

It's Alive (1974)

It's Alive isn't great, but it's creepy and it's one of the first movies I can remember going to see.

99. Donkey Punch (2008)

Teens on vacation and partying, then trouble starts. That usually works for me.

98. Pumpkinhead (1988)

If Lance Henriksen is in it, I usually like it.

97. Vamp (1986)

Grace Jones as a vampire is pretty cool.

96. Motel Hell (1980)

Horror with a mix of dark comedy.

+ rep for It's Alive (though I prefer the sequel) and Pumpkinhead. I can't remember if I've seen Motel Hell or not, but I think I have it somewhere.

95. Rest Stop (2006)

Direct to video movie is violent and well done.

94. Frozen (2010)

Original idea executed well.

93. Turistas (2006)

More young people in trouble while on vacation.

92. Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)

Very controversial when it was released.

91. Humanoids From the Deep (1980)

This one is pretty crazy, and very good.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
I can't remember if I've seen Motel Hell or not, but I think I have it somewhere.
You can't remember this?

90. Spellbinder (1988)

This hasn't aged well, but Kelly Preston is hot and it has a wtf ending.

89. Bloodsucking Freaks (1976)

Classic exploitation movie.

88. Monkey Shines (1988)

Forgotten movie from horror master George A. Romero.

87. The Midnight Meat Train (2008)

Gorefest starring a pre-stardom Bradley Cooper, Vinnie Jones, and Brooke Shields.

86. Victim (2010)

Hidden gem about a guy who gets abducted by someone who's going to do bad things to him, but there's a twist.

+REP for including Silent Night, Deadly Night, for being cricket, & for excluding good movies that i don't like looking at on horror lists either

Very surprising list so far. A lot of weird choices, or maybe not weird but defiantly different from your average picks. Good thing though, it makes this exciting and refreshing to follow!

But I wish you would leave a bit more text with the movies, cause since so many of them are either unknown or less known, it would be nice to hear why you liked them and why perhaps we should see them.
