Same here. Despite it being the most popular genre of the last decade and enjoying quite a few of them, I don't think it crossed my mind while making my list. There are maybe two superhero movies that came to mind after I read your post, but after looking at my list again at where I could place them, I said "nah" without any regrets. Granted, I'm not passionate about the genre, I'll probably eat my words when several of them appear on the list, etc., but this could say something about how ephemeral those movies are.

As for directors, I have three repeats. They're good ones, though. Trust me.

I had anticipated that it would be difficult to come with 25 films of the 2010s that I both enjoyed and thought were well done. Still, after eliminating the mindless superhero and pure action films along with the shameless W/SJ promotions, it was surprising to find 29 that fit my criteria. So it was easy to eliminate 4 of them to submit as a ballot, which I have done.

I have one film on my ballot that might be considered a superhero movie, but it isn't really one.

One thing is noticeable. The selected films are sprinkled evenly through decade. No real stand out year.
