I love Kevin Smith's humor. An Evening with Kevin Smith trilogy, the last one Threevening being my least favorite, is one of the funniest standups I've ever seen.
His stories which include the time Warner Brothers hired him to write a draft for Superman, his collaboration with nutjob Hollywood producer Jon Peters, the media war with director Tim Burton, meeting and working with Prince, Ben f**king Affleck, protesting Dogma, Jason Mewes' homemade porno and off-screen antics, and the absurdity of the Lord of the Rings trilogy are all HILARIOUS!!
Speaking of his films, I really enjoyed Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Mallrats, Jersey Girl, and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Clerks is his best movie to date, followed by Mallrats and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
Clerks 2, Chasing Amy, Cop Out, and Dogma were good, but not as good as the previous list.
I'm looking forward to Red State. I appreciate the new direction that Kevin is taking with this film. If he pulls it off, I expect he will continue to diversify his filmmaking style.
Overall, I love Kevin Smith. He's a one of a kind screenwriter and director, and a crude but funny articulate speaker.
