Warren Zevon
Big thumbs up for Warren Zevon! I've only got a few of his albums, plus a couple of compilation CDs, but I really enjoy what I do have of his work.

Here is my Zevon Top Ten:

1. Mohammed's Radio
2. Keep Me In Your Heart
3. Mr. Bad Example
4. Ain't That Pretty At All
5. Prison Grove
6. Play It All Night Long
7. Desperadoes Under the Eaves
8. My S***'s F***ed Up
9. Werewolves of London
10. Leave My Monkey Alone

I like "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner," but it's not a favorite and I can see why someone might dislike it.

Good whiskey make jackrabbit slap de bear.
I bought 5 of his albums (Warren Zevon, Excitable Boy, Bad Luck Streak In Dancing School, Stand In The Fire, The Envoy) in a boxset a few weeks back, when I started listening to a few tracks from Excitable Boy.

Out of all those, I'd say Bad Luck Streak In Dancing School is my favourite of his albums, and after that it's between his self-titled debut album and Excitable Boy. Excitable Boy has some of his best songs ever, but overall, I don't think they work together to make it an overall good album. The Envoy is ok, a bit weak compared to others, and Stand In The Fire is one of, if not, the greatest live albums of all time (at least a tie with The Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense.

Have you heard The Wind (his final album)?

If not, you need to pick it up. It's really superb (and contributions from people like Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen don't hurt).

Barenaked Ladies

1) "Brian Wilson"
2) "If I Had $1,000,000"
3) "One Week"
4) "Stomach vs. Heart"
5) "Four Seconds"
6) "The Old Apartment"
7) "Stomach vs. Heart"
8) "Straw Hat and Old Dirty Hank"
9) "Testing 1, 2, 3"
10) "Falling For the First Time"

Oh, god, if only I could lobotomize the Marcia Brady portion of my brain. Why didn't I become a normal person who listens to more modern music -- why can't I know 10,000 obscure bands that nobody's ever heard of? Why is it that the only band I can think of doing in this thread is...
