Opera anyone?

Hello Salem, my name's Winifred. What's yours
I recently saw Leonard Bernstein's Candide at the English national Opera, my first opera and now I want more.

Is anyone into opera or operettas? Anyone got any suggestions for me? I would prefer a comedic performance but I don't know where to start.

Yeah, I like Opera quite a bit. I'm a big fan Wagner's Der Ring der Nibelungen, Georges Bizet's Carmen..

Try those -- enjoy. Do you like musicals? Les Misérables will always be my favorite.

Will your system be alright, when you dream of home tonight?
The Rock opera Tommy is good.

Came in to recommend Bizet's Carmen, but, someone already did! Rep for that.

Listen to Mozart's Requiem Mass

Carmen is my top pick too, but I love Madame Butterfly and think its story of spurned love and the music are very accessible. Surely no one could fail to be moved by the aria Un Bel Di Vedremo specially at the end which always brings tears to my eyes
Here's the Chinese soprano Ying Huang singing.

La Boheme has lots of good tunes too
