The demise of the erotic thriller or (drama romance thriller)genre

Yeah, still looking for the heir to De Palma. Even he can't hack it no more, as I felt Passion (2012, De Palma) was a huge disappointment.


If there are exceptions to my stance, please let me know as I do enjoy these movies a great deal.

Do you think with a lot of people now demanding strong female characters, that the femme fatale erotic thriller, could have a resurgence?

I would love to see scarlette johanssen do an erotic thriller with a nice plot she s a milf by now and her body is amazing add to that acting talent...

Now we have internet! So that genre makes no sense anymore! Although if you do wanna look there are plenty of 2.5-4.5 rated IMDB stuff that fit the bill.

Sure I can try being not so nice lol. But I find it hard to believe that internet porn caused the demise of the erotic thriller, and it was said before that people would rather watch that stuff at home. However, with all these Netflix originals now, or even Prime originals, couldn't they make erotic thrillers for those streaming services, and still have Hollywood stars in, since Netflix is making other originals with Hollywood stars?
