I AM kinda surprised that Tyrion bought any of it, really. Then again, he hasn't seen as many sides of her *lately* as we've seen. Still, he knows her pretty well. It's pretty obvious to me, though, that she purposely let first Jaime and now Tyrion know she's pregnant (if she really is). That telltale tummy-rubbing bit was done completely on purpose.

She can use that fact to rein in Jaime and keep him loyal. And she can use it to get Tyrion to believe she might fight in the Great War in order to secure a safer world for her unborn child.

But we're not buying it. She's either completely nuts (if she's pregnant) or even more power-hungry and devious than we thought (if she's not pregnant).

There is an issue brooding in Tyrion. Part would be jealousy in that the writers made a point either last EP or the one before to have Tyrion see Dany's expression change when she mentioned "...and that Jon Snow." He called her out on what is obviously a school girl crush. Her reply was, "He's too small for me." Which I took as yet another slight against him even now by his queen, to which he's given his entire life up to serve. He has believed in her in spite of her temperament.

That in context of his noted recent failures in war strategy, and now watching her play love affair with yet another man of power---something I think he will soon resent her for in a partial bout of jealousy---may be enough for him to lose faith in her and fall into some despair. That could set him up for a major turn or betrayal.

I think in the end he will feel a self-loathing failure for a series of knocks that have been compounding this season, and be purely miserable for it before his end. After all, that is where his character started. A drunkard seeking the company of whores because he was taught to never belief he could do better in life. He will soon realize he tried, but failed anyway. Taking a drink in Cercei's chamber was the first step down that rabbit hole of misery.

I'm thinking Tyrion was simply jealous of Jon. However he must be having mixed feelings about the fact that he is bringing down his house, this was clear on the field of fire.

Is there any time left for Tyrion to do anything though, winter has come, I think Jamie comes and sides with Tyrion and house Lannister stays around through them and they both conclude that Cersei needs to go.

Cleganebowl is happening, I guarantee Arya + Hound are going after Cersei/Gregor, plus others. Maybe Jamie goes mobilize their forces after Cersei bites it.

Also we keep hearing "Kingslayer" about Jamie, I think that in the end that's what he will be, the Night King slayer, and thereafter it will be a term of affection, rather than slander.

Ok so I must admit Im lagging behind on G.O.T. by an episode, and Im almost at the end of the episode before last, "Beyond The Wall".

So when Danaryius is riding off with her 3 dragons which I presume is to save the GRRM Fellowship from the legions of the dead........this scene from a movie immediately came to mind.

The dragon attack on Lannister soldiers in The Spoils of Wars recalled the opening napalm drop from Apocalypse as well.

Didn't even occur to me that Tryion would be jealous. I think it's more worried about the implications and/or his ability to steer her in the right direction, since he made an explicit point of talking about that earlier in the episode.

I didnt think so either. Interesting in retrospect. I just thought he was guarding.

Well, I don't think jealousy is a key factor, just the tipping point that could be used in a self-defeatist's play. Ever how small a straw, it may still be the one to break the camel's back.

Yeah, I'm really not seeing Tyrion harboring any romantic feelings for Dany. I'd say he's been desensitized from that.

Interesting that most of the sex scenes in this have been a bit uncomfortable or porny (not really porny but I cant find the word I want) but that was so beautiful. Things will not end well. You cant have a gorgeous arse like that surviving.

There was the scene last season where he was made hand of the Queen, where he is talking about people loving her, and he has this lingering look in his eyes like he loves her.

You're like twelve words away from this turning into fan fiction.

My 2 cents: Tyrion is worried the relationship will end poorly or lead to trouble.

Eliminate what we know about Jon and Dany being aunt and nephew, there are very few relationships on this show that end well. The vast majority end poorly. The majority of political marriages end loveless and cold (his sister was in a loveless marriage for a decade and a half) and those that are based on love or at least are happy have ended with beheadings (Ned and Cat Stark), Red Weddings, and being killed while storming Castle Black (Jon and Ygrette).

Throw into the mix Tyrion's experience with Shae, his marriage to Sansa, the scars he bore as a teenager from his first marriage Tyrion is not the romantic type. He had been cynical and debauched for the vast majority of his adult life. But now he has the one thing in the world he believes in with Dany who I think is very concerned about this new romance and how it will affect her future rule.
