RIP Gerry Marsden

I was introduced to Gerry and the Pacemakers after becoming a fan of Liverpool Football club. And while YNWA is an anthem that I love (and have probably heard and sung hundreds of times, because it features before and after every game), I do like their other song 'Ferry Cross the Mersey' just a touch more.








If you love the Beatles, then you will most probably love most of their songs. Two talented bands from the same city.

Gerry was terrific. So he died yesterday in Merseyside at age 78. R.I.P. to a legend. ✝️


This is my fave song from him. Always thought the song sentiments made total sense & they still do.
