Inherent Vice

These cast additions are doing nothing to hurt my already sky-high anticipation for this film. Sean Penn working with PTA? Yes please.

Josh Brolin joined the cast!

Can't hurt, I guess. ;p

Man, I am so looking forward to this. It' such a shame that my two most anticipated film projects (The Wolf of Wallstreet and Inherent Vice) are still so far away at the moment.

New cast update:

Katherine Waterston will be playing the female 'leading' character.

I've only seen her in Michael Clayton, so far.
So next to his all-star cast, PTA is not afraid to let a new, rising star play one of the biggest roles in the movie. That's certainly ok with me.

I like Josh Brolin, a great addition, and Katherine Waterston I have never heard of, but that isn't a bad thing, makes things even more interesting. I'll add those two to the first post in a minute, cheers for the updates Copbyth

Also I noticed on the IMDB page Jeannie Berlin is credited with a role as Aunt Reet, I have never heard of her or heard anything about her and her role though, so not sure where that has come from.

Since this thread was last posted in there's been a whole lot of changes. Sean Penn looks like he's no longer in and Peter McRobbie (Lincoln) is now playing the role of Adrian Prussia, Maya Rudolph finally makes an appearance in one of her husband films and there's a whole lot more cast members that you can find on the IMDB link now that the film is being shot.

Updated the cast in first post and I'll add a couple of photos in too

Edit: I love this photo, look at the poster Doc's holding

Classic Anderson. It seems like he's letting his 'exuberant camera movement' side out again, like in Boogie Nights and Magnolia.
Amazing, although long shots in a PTA film are almost inevitable, I'm so excited. I don't know what it is about them that makes them so great, but PTA does them perfectly for me.

And when I'm all alone I feel I don't wanna hide
Paul Thomas Anderson is inarguably one of the finest filmmakers working in America today, so I'm sure this won't disappoint.

Paul Thomas Anderson, Royal Philharmonic, and Johnny Greenwood - the guys scoring Inherent Vice.

Finished here. It's been fun.
My most anticipated film of 2014, I am certain it will not disappoint. PTA is one of the finest filmmakers we have today.

And when I'm all alone I feel I don't wanna hide
Johnny Greenwood also did the There Will Be Blood score, didn't he?
Indeed. The Master, too.

Hopefully that means some Oscar nominations
Yeah, I was also thinking about that. It's a sign of "trust" in the film that they are releasing it in december.
