Black and White, man on the run film with a Jaguar car - name?

Hi,
I watched half of this film on Youtube six months or so ago. I cannot remember the name. What I can remember...
A man has a jaguar sports car. Stops at a diner where the police get called. Maybe enters a race...
It's got a noirish feel, is in black and white. I want to say it's 1930s, but that might be wrong.
Can anyone help with the name?
