Thank God I‘m an atheist.
A few suggestions that might work:

L.A. Confidential (1997)
Collateral (2004)
The Chaser (2008)
Running Scared (2006) Paul Walker!
Tell no one (2006)
Headhunters (Hodejegerne) (2011)
The Taking of Pelham one two three (1974)
I saw the devil (2010)
Out of time (2003)
Three days of the Condor (1975)
Strangers on a train (1951)
Charley Varrick (1973)
Runaway Jury (2003)

Double Indemnity
M
The Maltese Falcon
Basic Instinct
Fatal Attrraction
Chinatown
The Manchurian Candidate (either version, but the original is definitely superior)
Shutter Island
Die Hard
Leon
The Sixth Sense
Unbreakable
The Long Good Friday
The Hitcher
All The Presidents Men
Coma
Soylent Green
Assault On Precinct 13 (again, either version but the original is, by far, my preferred choice)
Manhunter
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (it's good, but if you want the full effect, watch the BBC mini-series)
Les Diabolique
In The Line Of Fire
Get Carter (1971)
Peeping Tom
Someone To Watch Over Me
Angel Heart
Desperate Hours
Hider In The House
Memento

That'll do for now.

Traitor starring Don Cheadle is pretty good.

My 10 most highly-rated thrillers are

1) The Dark Knight (2008)
2) Psycho (1960)
3) The Departed (2006)
4) Casino Royale (2006)
5) 28 Days Later (2002)
6) Halloween (1978)
7) The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
8) Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
9) Drive (2011)
10) Black Swan (2010)

Beyond that, basically all of the suggestions mentioned so far (that I have seen) have been spot-on, especially L.A. Confidential, M and Memento, all of which are either near or just barely outside of my top 100.

Prisoners for something recent.

Se7en for probably being the best thriller of all time.

I recommend a lot of what has already been listed, and here is one:

Red Eye.
Personally, I like this film. Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams are brilliant in it.

A lot of love for Oldboy. Not too much love for Lady Vengeance.

S7ven is good, as is Prisoners, and I liked Memento a lot.
