Finding Nemo breaks the record!

It was beauty killed the beast.
Finding Nemo had the biggest opening day gross of any animated film ever. It took in $20.9M (estimated) on Friday breaking the previous record by Pixar's prior film Monsters Inc. which made $17.4M on its first day.

Good to see that animated films are still capable of wielding boxoffice clout.

Put me in your pocket...
It will be interesting what the movie's final gross will be for the weekend. I took me kids to the 2:00 showing and the theatre was packed.

I agree.

Early estimates: a shade over $70 million. In other words, it appears to have equaled Bruce Almighty's three-day opening cume, and that's without the Memorial Day Monday to quasi-lean on (Carrey's flick made almost $85 million if you include that frame).

Name's Charly, the spy!
