So I actually took quite a bit of time to compile my list. I went through a list of all the movies that came out each year that I've watched movies, and jotted down my favorites from each year. That left me with about 300 titles, which I finally narrowed down to 200. I think some of you may think I have odd taste, and I'm not a very good writer, but we'll see how it goes. I hope some of you enjoy the list, and with any luck, someone may discover one of their new favorites.

Looking forward to it cricket. With a massive 200 films there is certainly a lot of scope to have quite a mixture with a few surprises thrown in, and hopefully a few films I'm not really aware of.

Please note that this is not at all what I would call the 200 greatest films ever made, just my personal favorites.

Well I said I was hoping for a few films I wasn't really aware of, and I think I just got 4 out of 4!

Yea you know I think the fact that I went through every movie released year by year helped me not leave anything out. So it's not just all films that are fresh in my mind. I'm also 41; I'm just guessing that might be older than most of the members here.

I need to watch Clean and Sober again. I don't really remember it. Talk Radio and Essex Boys are both films I like a lot and I haven't seen the other.

#196-Hostel(2005)
Trashy but I enjoy it, definitely a guilty pleasure. It has a sick sense of humor which I like.
#195-Hooper(1978)
Burt Reynolds and Jan-Michael Vincent are rival stuntmen in this boyhood favorite. I loved this as a 7 year old when it came out, and it is still enjoyable now.
#194-Airplane(1980)
More than a laugh a minute in one of the all time great spoofs. A lot of great lines.
#193-Poltergeist(1982)
Well done creepy horror that left the gore behind.*

No seen any films yet unfortunately. Really want to see Hostel as I want to start watching more lower quality B-movie type horrors and it's directed by Roth and produced by Tarantino. Then Airplane I really need to see as well, everyone seems to love it.

Three of the first four are great, and Essex Boys is watchable. Talk Radio was one of the films that came close to making my 100, but I've not seen it for years, so I dropped it. Hostel I have, but haven't watched, while Hooper is 'one of those Burt Reynolds films' that I just don't get along with. Poltergeist and Airplane are both superb.
Why did you pick 200?

I would say Airplane and Poltergeist are considered classics that most people have seen. A lot of the others so far weren't even considered hits, I don't think.

I picked 200 because I started with about 300. So just narrowing it down to 200 was a chore. And also, a tough thing was finding the right balance between my all time favorite, and movies I would watch now. For instance, I wouldn't be in such a rush to watch Hooper right now, but I absolutely loved it as a boy. It deserves to be on my all time favorites list and it wouldn't be possible if it was only 100. I hope that makes sense.

I love Poltergeist, but I don't like films like Hostel. The only torture porn type movie that I like is The Loved Ones.

Good choices so far, Poltergeist and Airplane! are awesome... if they're as low as this in your list I'm lookingh forward to the rest of the list...
Not sure about Hostel though, I'm not a big fan of Torture Porn...

Yea there was a part of me that didn't want to include it as I figured it would get some flack. But I wanted to be completely honest in my choices. I certainly don't feel like I'm growing intellectually while watching a film like that. But if I do enjoy it, I guess there's nothing I can do about it.

#192-House of Games(1987)
A David Mamet film about con men. A great plot with twists that will keep you guessing until the end.
#191-Hustle and Flow(2005)
The only film of it's kind on my list. Terrance Howard is amazing as a pimp with big time dreams of becoming a rap star.
#190-Southern Comfort(1981)
Deliverance type of film except it's National Guardsmen fighting each other and the backwoods *Louisiana Cajuns whom they have royally pissed off. Directed by the great Walter Hill.
#189-The Stepfather(1987)
Creepy horror/thriller about an outwardly normal man who likes to change identities and families. Good enough to spawn a remake, which I have avoided.
