I've only watched the first two episodes, had it for ages but haven't got around to watching the rest - I've been told it gets really good about three or four episodes in because so far I've not been blown away by the series. So will see.

I have a friend who tried it and didn't like it. The problem is she doesnt' like the "Walter" character, which really is a problem. It's a shame, as it exactly the kind of thing she likes. I'd agree that it does get better, but then I didn't think it started off badly, so maybe it's preaching to the converted. If you try again and like it, I can promise you a programme that gets better with each series. Well, it does for me anyway. I'd say the same about Dexter, and I know almost everyone disagrees with me about that.

Oo yes, I will be finishing it - I enjoyed what I have seen just not as brilliant as I thought it would be, but I'm only two episodes in, so I might end up loving it. So far, don't have a problem with any of the characters.

As for Dexter, I loved it so much that I went and bought the next three seasons after watching just the first episode.
