stop with the gun pictures! they make me nervous

Whats with this deep water solo climbing? that looks really scary! Have you ever done any? if so show us photos!

I was friends with a pro climber named Chris Sierzant in Georgia. I went water bouldering with him, which is essentially waiting for the water level to go down so you can climb on the boulders outcroppings. It isn't nearly as high or pretty as deep water soloing though.

I don't have photos of me, but here are some of Chris climbing in the same locations I have climbed.

EDIT: Here are some shots from Vietnam for your comparison

Do you wish you had a different first name?

How many keys do you carry with you? Do you wish you had fewer?

Do you carry things in your wallet beyond cash and credit cars, like gift certificates, business cards, etc? What's the weirdest thing you have in there?

How often do you use stamps?

Have you ever had long hair? If so, when, and for how long?

Do you wish you had a different first name?

I actually do have a different first name. My first name is Stewart and middle name Taylor, and for whatever reason my parents decided to call me by my middle name. I did have a group of friends that called me Stew in High School, but that was short lived as I moved states my sophmore year.

How many keys do you carry with you? Do you wish you had fewer?

Lets see, my keyring has

car key
mail box key
work front door key
work office key
home front door key
work "snack fund" key

It's actually not that bulky, so I am good with it.

Do you carry things in your wallet beyond cash and credit cars, like gift certificates, business cards, etc? What's the weirdest thing you have in there?

I have all kinds of business cards. The weirdest thing I have is a 1 month internet card from Kuwait that I never used while I was there.

How often do you use stamps?

Only when I mail in speeding ticket fines...

...so often.

Have you ever had long hair? If so, when, and for how long?

Haha, this is funny. I had long hair throughout high school. I found two photos from 6 years ago

My wife would be pissed if she knew I posted that last picture.

I am going to come back to some of these when I can sit down a bit longer.

Why did you join the military?

I really don't agree with much that the military is doing strategically or politically, and didn't when I joined. I just wanted to enlist, and milk it for what I could. I figured if I enlisted for 6 years, and got out with a free bachelor's degree, six years of job experience working in communications, and some stability for my new family, then it would be worth it.

Did you think about joining something other than the Army?

I am in the Air Force. I didn't think about any other branch, my pops was in the Air Force as well and enjoyed the lifestyle.

When did you first meet your (now) wife?

My junior year of high school!

When you play Monopoly, is there a token you have to be?

Whatever the little guy decides I am that round.

What was your favourite class at school and why?

I enjoyed all social studies classes, mainly World History.

Least favourite and why?

This one is strange. I didn't enjoy math classes, but I rather enjoyed math studies. I just absolutely hated the constant repetitive assignments I suppose, I wasn't much for completing assignments at home, so my grades reflected that.

Do you watch PBS?

No, not really.

Which of your son's games/toys do you like the most?

My wife's iPhone, which he has pretty much taken possession of.

Which would you like to 'accidently' step on?

Guess Who! What a terrible game..

Other than films/dvd, is there anything else you collect?

I hold on to a beer bottle if it is the first time trying that particular flavor/brand.

When you see a shoe in the middle of the road, do you wonder how it got there?

You know, I can't think of a certain time that I have seen a shoe in the middle of the road.

Do you have any pets?

I do. I have a 1 year old Border Collie and a 6 month old Australian Shepherd. Before I got these two guys, I had a Great Dane but he passed away.

As you mentioned speeding fines, what's the fastest you've been clocked doing?

Haha, in my 4 cylinder 1.4 liter civic, only about 85 in a 65. I have gotten two tickets recently, but before these two tickets I have never received any traffic citations.

What's your favourite, non N.American, tv programme?

I enjoyed Skins. I don't usually like the coming to age type shows, but there was something about this - probably the characters.

Dead Set would be a close 2nd. It was a pretty short series though.

Why did you dislike Heroes so much? Did you always hate it?

I loved the first season. Sylar became repetitive and Peter Petrelli became a wuss.

What's your favourite flavour milkshake?

Strawberry Banana.

A few follow up questions, if I may?

Are you psyched/did you know about the US version of Skins?
Are you looking forward to The Walking Dead? Will you watch/purchase it?
I thought that might be the case with Heroes. Did you watch Lost? How did you feel about the end if you did?
Is Strawberry Banana a flavour you can buy or do you mix it yourself?

What do you do when someone says that your favourite movie sucks?

Well, my favorite movie, The Fountain, is a hit or miss for a lot of people, so I don't get too bent out of shape.

Have you ever made anyone bleed?

I've never really been in a fight. My head hit a friends nose while playing basketball, that made for a pretty big nose bleed.

Something you can't stand about your own family?

I have lived away from home since I was 18, so I don't get aggrivated or anything by my parents since they live far away. It sucks that I have a long way to go to being half the person my pops is. He has been pretty successful with his career, and I feel like I have a lot to live up to. I don't hate that about him or anything, it just seems like it will be tough.

Do you think someone you truly love is worth dying for?

My son, no doubt.

Why The Fountain?

I merely ask because I know why it is important for me, and I know Sedai has his own reasons for its importance. So what is it for you?

My son has a liver disease called Alpha 1 Anti-Trypsin Deficiency. For a good month or so, the doctor's didn't know what was wrong, but only that he had significant scaring on his liver, and that it was larger than normal. I watched this film during that time. The doctor's were running tests, even at one point having to perform a liver biopsy. If you have seen The Fountain, then I imagine you understand how many elements of the film connected with me on a deep, personal level.

Fortunately my kiddo is okay. He will live with Alpha 1 for his whole life, and he has blood work semi annualy to make sure his liver isn't worsening. The docs say he should live his whole life perfectly healthy, but there is always a chance that he may need a liver transplant.

Thanks for the question Mr. McClane, glad I could share.
