Greatest Bond Movie

Well now, best Bonds.

Sean Connery's best is GOLDFINGER, with THUNDERBALL and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE a close second and third. Dr No was okay and a good intro to 007 though. One that doesn't even rank at any level is NEVER SAY NAVER AGAIN. Shudder. It's with OHMSS there.

Roger Moore's best is THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, with A VIEW TO A KILL and FOR YOUR EYES ONLY second and third. Moonraker was quite a marvel too though. Live and Let Die was a kind of low key Dr NO re-hash/intro for the new Bond actor (quarrel jnr for example).

Timothy Dalton's best is THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS, LICENCE TO KILL wasn't what I expected, good to get a grittier vengeful Bond but at the wrong time in the franchise I think.

Pierce Brosnan's best is TOMMORROW NEVER DIES. It was the first true Bond film, gadgets - the car - enterprising villain - great heavy (& that danish teacher!!) since THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS. DIE ANOTHER DAY and GOLDENEYE a close second and third. World Is Not Enough, the Bond family motto, was a bit more down to earth and more like FOR YOUR EYES ONLY. Only gripe I have with TND is that in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE he mentions to moneypenny something along the lines of "I took a major in oriental languages at Cambridge." But he can't read the oriental text on the keyboard in Wai Lins's hideaway. Hmm.

George Lazenby's best is, well, his only. Though a good middle man between Sean and Roger, I felt the series stepped outside of itself a lot in this film. More a tribute or nod to the Bonds. "This never happened to the other fella." For example.
Also, Bond marries? He's had no more of a fling with Contessa than any other girl. If you gotta marry someone James, marry Daniella Bianchi. She's a prize. Also, that disguise wouldn't fool a blind polish peasant yet alone Blofeld who met Bond face to face in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. Scar? Sure he had Plastic surgery in Diamonds (a visual effects loss), but in a later Roger Moore flick he's Bald and has a neck brace (a la OHMSS).
That movie is a thorn in the series' side riddled with inconsistency and failings. To be harsh is to be noble and just. Good on it's own, as a seperate film though. That's my 2 cents. Live long and prosper.

Diamonds Are Forever is a great Bond flick, I'm a big fan of the first three as well, Dr. No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger (keeping the original Casino Royale out of the equation). Hmm, all four star Sean Connery, I wonder who the best Bond is.

Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

goldeneye for sure!

The Man with the Golden Gun is pretty awesome (oh me gash, the barrel roll off the ramp and over the river) but Goodnight is one of the most retardedest Bond girls! It's even worse for her because she worked for the agency. Sweet Jebus, that was one stupid girl.

I have too much love in my heart for the Bond series to single out just one favorite film, overall. As far as Bond girls go though, sweet baby Jesus, I am so in love with Domino (Thunderball). In commemoration of my love for her, a change of avatar.

That was kinda the point she was suppose to be stupid just like Rosie Carver was in Live and Let Die.

My favorite Bond girl was Jane Seymour as Solitaire

Oh yeah! Jane Seymour is way up there. Not to mention Live and Let Die is awesome. I was roaring when Bond blew up that guy at the end with... what was it? Some sort of capsule? I just remember the dude inflating and blowing up. My goodness, the things that Fleming fella came up with.

I wasn't quite sure whether to laugh at all the incredibly stereotypical things they had the black people do in that movie. And that racist cop... jeez.

And for the record: I laughed.

Haha, yes! That part was great. When I first saw it I thought he was gonna use his magnet watch to pull that guy with the metallic arm into the lake.

The brilliant conclusion to Diamonds are Forever. One of my favorite Bond endings.
