NOT ACTUALLY BANNED
I'm sick of watching all these polls come out and I don't know a single person who's ever been polled.

So here's the deal. I'm on 3 fairly political forums.

1 Strongly Liberal, 1 Moderate, and 1 pretty Conservative.

I'm putting up polls on all three forums for a couple of days and then I'm going to combine the results, just to get an idea of who is in the lead based on the forums I browse.

So, who's your vote?

Sedai's gonna flip his lid when he sees "Other."

Anyway, ya'll know I like Johnny Mac. Do let us know how the other polls come out, Bobby. Should be interesting.

You think they'll still go ahead and put Palin on the ticket?

You're a Genius all the time
If I do vote, which is probably not gonna happen, I'll more than likely go with McCain. Unless, of course, I get to the voting booth and see that one of the third party candidates has a funny name or something.

Then I'll vote for them.

I'm voting for Obama. I originally voted for Hillary, and...er...nevermind. Anyway, I don't know if it will help, he lost pretty bad here in Ohio.

Just so you know, I've moved a few of the posts in here to the The 2008 Election thread, as they had more to do with the election and the various arguments we've been having about it, and not so much with the actual poll.

I realize this is a fine line, but I think it's best we keep the more opinionated stuff to the existing thread, and just catalogue the opinions here. If Bobby feels otherwise, I'd be glad to move them back, as it's his thread, but I'm assuming that he's just looking for straightward poll responses.

I don't want to vote for either of the two big ones. Both of them are too Hollywooded up for me. I'm going third party probably.

Projecting the image of success
It's a shame that there is no independant. I'm goning to vote for McCaine.

Reminds me of one of my all time favorite Simpsons gags. Evil aliens Kang and Kodos infiltrated the bodies of Bob Dole and Bill Clinton in a very roundabout attempt to conquer our planet. And even when the American people found out both the Republican and Democratic candidate was really a vicious space monster, they still wound up voting one of them into office instead of someone from a fringe party.

KANG
It's true, we are both aliens determined to enslave your entire race. But what are you going to do about it? It's a two party system! You have to vote for one of us!

MAN IN CROWD
Well, I believe I'll vote for a third party candidate!

KANG
Go ahead! Waste your vote!

I'm not old, you're just 12.
There's no way he pulls Palin. That would be disastrous and no recovery from that.
I think picking Palin was disastrous and there may be no recovering from it. McCain may need to somehow bring Reagan back from the dead to have even a hope in hell anymore.

McCain/Zombie Reagan '08.

Still wouldn't vote for him though.

You ready? You look ready.
I don't align with either party, but when McCain picked Palin that sealed the deal on my vote. Had he picked Romney I probably would still be up in the air about my vote.

Yes, she came with a fair amount of baggage didn't she? Police investigation probe into allegations of attempts to use her political leverage to have her brother fired, pregnant teenage daughter, lobbying for earmark favors with a corrupt senator. etc etc.

Not that Obama needed any help (Americans are loath to repeat the nightmare of the last 8 years) but McCain's desparation VP choice of Palin is really the cherry on top of Obama's all but secure presidency.

Why did McCain picking Palin make all the difference to you?

Well, first off, it's not a "police" investigation, and it was her brother-in-law. And I encourage you to read up on it, because he violated any reasonable standard of behavior several times before being fired, including threatening the Governor's father's life, using his gun to shoot a mouse, and using his taser on his own son.

News to me, and everyone else following the race. Most polls have McCain within the margin of error, and some had him leading as of just last week. We're to believe the choice was "desparate" when the two of them were neck-and-neck when he made it?
