PP Slaggart - Mad Eyeball Club

A little bit about this: PP Slaggart (not his real name, and it'll be a cold day in the hot place before it's revealed) is an Omagh songwriter who I've been friends with for a long time. He's released a couple of fantastic albums - Tales From A Whisky Town and The Ramblings Of Dangerous McDaid.

Put the gruff Country sound to one side (he sings in character) as he's a fantastic lyricist...

Grandaddy - The Crystal Lake.

Another song that defies explanation, but it feels suitably epic for my current mood.

Couldn't find the lyrics online either so I transcribed them for you. You might be able to spot the line that I couldn't make out clearly...

When I die
I want to die
Not in a home built for the unknown
But by the hands
Of a Maasai

When I sing
I want to sing
Sing like a lark as dawn beats the dark
Let the sweet memories
Set me free

When I love
I want to love
Not like some swine with no semblance of spine
But like a flower
In the sunshine

The battlefield
It rages on
Heart against mind the mean versus kind
*na na na na dum de dum* huge weight

When i die
I want to die
Not in a home built for the unknown
But by the hand
Of a Maasai
