Whats the best movie ending of all time?

WARNING: "Fallen" spoilers below
"Fallen" immediatly comes to mind. The bad guy actually wins, and you never see it coming, I mean, come on, how often does Denzel Washington as the good guy actually lose in a movie?

I thought Batman Begins had the best ending ever. Probably because I'm a big Joker fan and it got me all excited.

Im a big fan of the ending to Ford's The Searchers . Could a cowboy be any more badass than when walking into the sunset?

Back to the Future I & II. I almost wet myself every time. The music plays a big part with these endings, but i love how well they're done. The Matrix Reloaded should have taken a hint from BTTF on how to get hype for a sequel.

I'll go think of a few more...

'The Discreet Charm Of The Bourgeoisie' has one of the most clever and (imho) genius ridden endings.

I have to say the ending of Usual Suspects was...

Who would have thought he was faking it all along?
I thought it was clever.

Hello everyone, this is my first post. My favorite ending would probably go to the Shawshank Redemption, very powerful in my opinion. Although many other films come to mind.

The Usual Suspects and Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid

CLASSIC
Butch Cassidy: Wait a minute - you didn't see Lefors out there did you?
Sundance Kid: Lefors? No, why?
Butch Cassidy: Thank God for that. For a moment there I thought we were in trouble.

I wouldn't say they're the greatest, but they're some of my favorites:

"Silence of the Lambs" - For Hannibal's last line.

"Basic" - You get the surprise, a wink and Black Betty.

"Cast Away" - It gives you hope that there are other paths to follow.

"The Train Robbers" - You have to see it to appreciate it.

"Pirates of the Caribbean" - I don't know what it is. Depp's last line or the music or the combination of both. But as soon as it's over I want to see more.

Thelma and Louise... not the greatest, but I think very memorable…

Haha, thanks for that Caitlyn. I was wondering why mine looked so terrible :P

Cry Wolf and Saw II have good endings.

I always favor a twist. Ocean's 11 and 12 also come to mind.

I generally love a eucatastrophic twist, but if I'm surprised, I usually like it.

Chinatown - Grim, tragic and undeniably powerful. A perfect ending to a perfect film.

So many good movies, so little time.
The Searchers
Some Like it Hot
Casablanca

I always thought the end of "The Godfather" was great. Honorable mention goes to the following: Braveheart, The Sixth Sense, A Few Good Men and Gladiator.
