Was a scene cut from It's A Wonderful Life or am I misremembering it?

I grew up watching It's A Wonderful Life around Christmas when I was little. I hadn't seen it in a long time and recently purchased it. The version I bought is labeled as the "original uncut version" but when I played it a scene was not quite as I recalled it. It's the scene where Mary is hiding in the bushes while George has her bathrobe. Just as in the video below when George says "I'll make a deal with you" it immediately cuts to the car approaching. But I vividly recall him saying something like "If you want it you'll have to come out and get it." before the car drove up. I was certain that this scene existed, but the movie I purchased is labeled as the "uncut" version. Does anyone else remember that scene? If so, do you know of a version of the movie that truly is uncut?

I am always dubious of the provenance of online scripts, as I have found too many are merely transcripts of cut film versions. To settle the question you have posed conclusively, you need a copy of the shooting script. Lucky for you, it is (reportedly) reproduced in The It's a Wonderful Life Book (https://www.amazon.com/Its-Wonderful.../dp/0394747194).

After more searching I think I've been able to answer one of my questions. The person who wrote this review on Amazon also remembered that scene. Now I wonder if an actual uncut version of the movie is available anywhere.

Current DVDs etc. have a running time of 130 minute. I have checked the original running time in several publications published between 1946 and 1961. All of them also report a running time of 130 minutes. So, less than 60 seconds have been cut -- presumably the scene you remember (which I also sort of remember).

Quite a few companies released the movie on VHS tapes in the 1980s and early 1990s, when it was believed to be in the public domain, utilizing a number of different prints as sources. Used copies of these tapes are available on eBay for $1.50 to $3.00. I suggest buying one company's product after another until you find one with the missing material.
