The Bib-iest of Nickels
I read an article recently about how Pixar nearly lost all of Toy Story 2, but were able to salvage it because one of their employees was on maternity leave and happened to have a backed up version of it.

I Didn't know that:

In 1975, Michael Douglas produced One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, having acquired the rights to the Ken Kesey novel from his father. The film received critical and popular acclaim, and won the Academy Award for Best Picture, earning Douglas his first Oscar as one of the film's producers.

Jerry Lewis showed up unannounced at the funeral of Dean Martin Jr. (who's Air Force plane crashed in 1987).

I just learned this from watching a SNL skit some MoFo posted on another thread right here on this site!

I had no idea The One and Only Ivan was K.A. Applegate's book. Now I wish I could've watched the movie before we cancelled Disney Plus.

Also, Mark Walhberg was once a part of Donnie's band... which just so happened to be New Kids on the Block.

You ready? You look ready.
This is more of a "hey, I forgot he was in this one" but I was shocked to see Henry Cavill's baby face in The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) the other night.

Ah yeah, that's a good one. And a really good movie! It doesn't get a lot of attention, in part because it's a well-worn story, but I really, really like that adaptation.

Boris Karloff turned down the lead role in Werewolf Of London six years before Lon Chaney Jr. gave us The Wolf Man.
Before credit cards and booking online and booking over the phone Vegas Casinos had storefront style travel offices.

You went in and made your Vegas Hotel Reservation there.

George Raft turned down so many roles he was eventually passed over, career faded and may have fallen on difficult financial times.
He worked as a greeter to attract customers at one casino storefront office on Ventura Bl in Sherman Oaks Calif.

Not film related but Bob Eubanks mortgaged his home to raise the funds to bring the Beatles to the Hollywood Bowl.

Expectant mothers that work on Pixar films, the baby's name gets in the closing credits.

Lou Costello (of Abbott and Costello fame) invented the automatic icemaker!

But he failed in his intent to market it.

James Arness and Glen Strange (Sam the bartender) of Gunsmoke share a similar history. Both acquired some measure of fame by playing monsters. Strange played the Frankenstein monster in A&C Meet Frankenstein. Arness played the monster in The Thing from another world. Arness was 6"7", Strange was 6"6".

On a similar note, my ancestry quest recently revealed yet another link to the Frankenstein Monster story. The likely candidate for a historical Victor Frankenstein is a convicted alchemist named Johann Conrad Dippel, who lived in a place called Castle Frankenstein in the 1700's Holy Roman Empire. He never managed to "make" a monster, but had a bad reputation and ended up being excommunicated and subsequently fictionalized by Mary Shelley. I keep finding hints in Ancestry, but have not managed to make the right connection yet. I actually recall hearing the name "Dippel" from old folks when I was a kid but, for a variety of reasons, they would not talk about the Old Country relatives, who became a forbidden fruit, hence my ancestry quest.

I recently learned what butterface meant. I knew it meant everything was attractive on a person but their face, however, it took 10 years for me to realize that butterface meant "but her face"

Couldn’t find my Mac book pro. It was really painful to pay that price so I kept it out of harms way.

So well secured I’d forget where it was.

This search I discovered my wife had our youngest wipe it.*Zero’d it out to the day I bought it.

Wifie gave it to a child that was bedridden and hospitalized for over a year losing a battle with a slow moving, brutal cancer.

About 6 months later new, promising study chemos arrived and backed this child out of cancer hell.

Going to school and bagged my groceries at Krogers this past weekend.

Ghouls, vampires, werewolves... let's party.
Nicole Kidman is an American and Australian actress. She has an American accent in Eyes Wide Shut but in interviews she has a bit of an Australian accent.

Because she's Australian.
She was born in Hawaii, which makes her an American citizen. I would presume she has dual nationality with Australia.

I just found this out today: Trivia question: which is the only state flag in the United States that contains the flag of a foreign country?

D.C. isn't a State. The answer is Hawaii.

According to Russ Tamblyn, the idea for West Side Story originated with Montgomery Clift.
