The Hall of Infamy

anyone else seen this trailer floating around? could be a contender for next hall's token pureflix entry

I admit I cheated to watch this. I had the volume down because I'm listening to a Helloween album. But the visuals alone make me wanna see this.

Despite a jumbled narrative and a run time that runs a bit too long, this was surprisingly decent. I think going into these films with low expectations help. I found the camera work to be...at least some effort was put into it instead of placing a camera down and hitting record.

Being a horror fan helps somewhat in the enjoyment of the film. The blood and guts help make the confusing nature of the film somewhat enjoyable. I never heard of the film or would have ever watched it. But thanks.

Lust for Frankenstein

This entire movie felt like a band made a bunch of music videos to their debut album and tried to make every music video a continuing narrative, some time based in the 90's of course. Then porn was added in.

What else is there to really say??? I put it above films that did not have nudity. Hahahaha.

R.O.T.O.R. (Cullen Blaine, 1987)

This is trying so hard to be a typical 80s action movie but the budget and ability just are not there whatsoever and as bad as it is it mostly just went by without triggering any kind of feelings at all. It shoots for some cute, cheeky humour which isn't unwelcome but doesn't do much, with the exception of the way too human police robot who we would love but, y'know, ACAB and all. Generally I don't think its shot all that bad (minus the action of course) but a lot of these shots just need to be shorter. Honestly if any of the action was even just okay this wouldn't be too bad but having probably the best fight sequence in the film be in the background of a shot is kind of hilarious though. It has a handful of kind of funny moments that just needed some more oomph from the filmmaking side of things to make them really click. The movie in general just needs more oomph. Some of the music is great though, definitely the standout element. Oh and the opening title crawl or whatever you'd call it reminded me of this video lmao:

I already submitted my ballot but after writing this I kind of regret putting this as low as I did lol.

I'm impressed that we all finished so early. Nice work everyone

I'll post the reveals tomorrow. In the meantime, what film do you guys think won this Hall?

hoping i screwed Takoma out of the win #JusticeforKrampus
LOL.

When Speling said it was your ballot that would make the difference, I was like "Aw, dang!".

I'm really interested to see where Manos ends up, considering the relatively positive response it got.
