I also am a big fan of putting on Spanish subtitles if available. It can help your brain recognize what it is hearing.

And personally I find that different accents are easier or harder for me. Argentinian accents seem to be the easiest for me, but that may be because one of my main Spanish teachers was Argentinian.

I find Spanish can sound magical for thrillers. It's immediately intriguing

Some not yet mentioned that I loved...

- El Cuerpo (The Body) (2012) Oriol Paulo
Kind of my first Spanish watch. Like many other people, I immediately wanted to see 5 more Spanish movies! (and did so). This may still be my #1 favorite.

- La Cara Oculta (The Hidden Face) (2011) Andrés Baiz
Started it a 2nd time by accident and enjoyed it all over again (I forget easily )

- Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) (2014) [ARG] Damián Szifron
Possibly the "least boring" short story collection I've seen.

The Young and the Damned 1950 ‘Los olvidados’
Nine Queens 2000 ‘Nueve reinas’
Pan’s Labyrinth 2006 ‘El laberinto del fauno’
Timecrimes 2007 ‘Los cronocrímenes’
Sin Nombre 2009
The Secret in Their Eyes 2009 ‘El secreto de sus ojos’
The Body 2012 ‘El cuerpo’
The Invisible Guest 2016 ‘Contratiempo’

I don't always watch movies in Spanish, but when I do they're directed by Guillermo del Toro.

I forgot the opening line.
I like Pedro Almodóvar, Alfonso Cuarón, Alejandro González Iñárritu and I guess Guillermo del Toro too when it comes to Spanish-language films. Mostly because I'm a boring go-with-the-crowd kind of movie watcher, although sticking to those names means you'll see heaps of great, great movies.

"The Innocent" I loved this movie.

I have watched very few Spanish-language movies, but I found a subtitled Chronicle of a Death Foretold (1987) absolutely mesmerizing.
