Loved this scene for its mastery. Hated the situation. This one was an edge of the seat scenario for me. I had so much empathy for the kind old merchant, me knowing who he was dealing with while he was oblivious to it. Very suspenseful waiting to see what his fate would be. I give Bardem grade A+ as a sociopath.

The infamous Five Easy Pieces diner scene.

That one has quite a slew of perfect random scenes in it. practically everyone in that movie was portrayed as a pitiful specimen of a human being, or at least a victim of pitiful human beings. If one can pick up on the undertones of it, one of the most cringe-worthy parts in the film was the father's letter to Travis while Travis read it (in the father's voice), thanking him for what he'd done for Iris.

I've always said that, due to this scene in the movie, Superman's public name should have been "Say Jim!" since that's the name he was given by the first person to ever see him in his costume! (The "S" stands for "Say"!)
