Great round, everyone! For many of them it was hard to assign numbers.
1. Black Mountain - Defector
I love Black Mountain. Been listening to them a lot of late. This particular album is incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone who liked this song. (listen to the song "Boogie Lover" for extra comfirmation)
2. Killing Joke - Love Like Blood
**** yes Killing Joke. Very cool song.
3. Megaherz - Zombieland
Oooh I'm getting light Rammstein vibes from this.
4. Yapoos - Anti Ennui
Weird little thing, but I liked it. I could easily crush on the vocalist. HAWT.
5. Bark At The Moon - Ozzy Osbourne
Classic Ozzy. Although I must admit I prefer Ozzy with Sabbath, and Sabbath with Ozzy (I normally only like Sabbath with Ozzy, exceptions being Born Again and Mob Rules)
6. Michael Jackson ft. Carlos Santana - Whatever Happens
Never heard this before. Quite pretty.
7. Neil Diamond - Glory Road
Neil Diamond has a great voice.
8. Scrapper Blackwell - Shady Lane
Very nice rootsy blues.
9. Charley Crockett - The Poplar Tree
Pleasant enough, for country, a genre I struggle a lot with. Not sure it's memorable enough for me though.
10. The 3rd and the Mortal - Salva Me
Wasn't quite sure what to make of this.
11. All Saints - Pure Shores
Not really a fan of this sort of pop in general.

Round 9? Nom
From the gruesome, dark, shadowy pit that is my 1980's childhood repression box, my next nomination comes to light. From the moment I decided my theme, I knew the movie and I assumed the song; but for this flick's startling violation of my then pure as the driven snow innocence, I was hesitant to give this very much attention. I am glad that I did, though! My current selection seems slightly out of place, but does a wonderful job or countering the lurking memories of pain and suffering that I (and so many of my friends at the time) have suffered. "What movie could do such a thing?" one might ask. One would be reasonable to guess, The Evil Dead. or perhaps one of the earlier Nightmare on Elm Street releases. Good guesses, but one would be wrong. No! This movie was far more damaging to the collective childhood of a nation and I fear speaking its name will only conjure its sleeping demons...
Good thing I'm only typing this!
I present to you a track from 1986's major motion picture release of T.V.'s Transformers: The Movie. My mother took me and a friend to this theatrical release. We were salivating to see our heroes on the big screen in a full length motion picture run. That's my friend and I, I mean. My mom couldn't have cared less I'm sure. Little did we know that within the first 3 minutes of our viewing, we would witness an entire planet of sentient life devoured, alive, by the massive and godly Unicron. We literally watched the inhabitants digested. But wait!!! After the brief opening credits, we were then treated to a Decepticon attack on an Autobot moonbase that resulted in the death of four of our favorite Autobots. But wait WAIT wait!!!1! Optimus. Prime. was. killed!!!!!! Oh. [spoiler?] This doesn't even include all of the debated kills off screen. Let me rephrase that: children witnessed no less than FIVE of their heroes of the previous two YEARS brutally MURDERED!!!! A friggin CARTOON! lol.
I admit that "The Touch," by Stan Bush, was the obvious choice. However, the more I listened to it, the angrier I got. "You're a winner!" plays confidently as Prime leaps into action, taking on Megatron one-on-one. Boy was that a lie! So, no. 86 "The Touch" and let's move on to something a little less ...debilatingly morbid. After much debate (that's internal debate with the other voices in my head), I decided, instead, to submit the more reasonable and approachable song that more might enjoy. This track backed the entrance of the Junkions, a newly discovered race of transformers that live on a planet-sized ball of... well ....junk.
"Weird Al" Yankovic - Dare to be Stupid
So refreshing. And no one dies! Well. We'll just skip over that whole Quintesson judgment scene. =\ GOSH, that movie is so dark!!!

My R10 nom:
Hooverphonic - Frosted Flake Wood
1. Dmitri Shostakovich - Cello Sonata in D minor, II. Allegro
- I am too dumb to talk about classical music. I like the way it sounds.
2. Spoon - Lines in the Suit
- "How come I feel so washed up at such a such a tender age now" damn dude. It's interesting to me that lyrics similar to this can come off so grating and whiny in the hands of many other artists and bands, but Spoon, a band that I really haven't listened to, make it feel real and relatable.
3. Alabama 3 - Woke Up This Morning
- Impossible to separate this from The Sopranos, and since I love The Sopranos, this song benefits.
4. boris - 1970
- I should probably listen to Boris
5. The Builders And The Butchers - Raise Up
- Doing dark, old-timey inspired music will appeal to me more often than not
6. Flowing Tears - Kismet
- This is fine
7. "Weird Al" Yankovic - Dare to be Stupid
- I'm not that big of an Al fan.
8. Queensryche - Eyes of a Stranger
- Have I never listened to a Queensryche song before? Why was I thinking they would be something completely different?
9. Michael Sembello - Rock Until You Drop
- A little too much for me.
10. Survivor - The Search Is Over
- Nope. Not today, Satan.
