23rd MoFo Hall of Fame

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
Back to the subject of this Hall of Fame, it turns out that I'm off this Saturday so we're looking at about a 10:00 a.m. reveal (Pacific Time).
That'll make a great wake up moment - THANKS

And with Top 100 Lists, it would be impossible for me as well. When I was a little kid I did have a notebook with every film I ever watched until I was around 13 when it dawned on me that with films on TV that are edited for time and content there were films I technically did not see, so I stopped.

Now, I have seriously considered a 100 Countless Rewatches List, though the only way I could do it would be alphabetical.

(I'm on the west coast too and other time zones usually throw me off)
Every US timezone other than Eastern throws me off, so I know how you feel haha.

I can easily convert my local time to Eastern, but I need to look everything else up. I know it's just basic math, but I keep mixing Central and Mountain time up, and/or forgetting one of them even exists.

I might actually have a nomination! It's not any of the ones I've watched over the last few days, and I didn't even have it on my "to watch" list for the rest of the week. The idea just suddenly came to me, so I'm going to rewatch it now since I only saw it when it was in theatres.

I sent MV a PM to check it's availability on streaming sites in the US since it's a newer film than what I'd typically go with. I imagine it should be pretty easy to find by now though.

It must be lucky to only have one film to suggest for nomination my shortlist right now...

Black Narcissus (Powell, Pressburger)
Jane Eyre (Robert Stevenson)
Shadow of a Doubt (Alfred Hitchcock)
The Abominable Snowman (Val Guest)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Don Siegel)
The Bat (Crane Wilbur)
Divorce Italian Style (Pietro Germi)
The Great Love (Pierre Etaix)
Jaws (Steven Spielberg)
Le Samurai (Jean-Pierre Melville)
Macbeth (Roman Polanski)
Barry Lyndon (Stanley Kubrick)
The Long Goodbye (Robert Altman)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (Steven Spielberg)
The Mission (Roland Joffe)
Au Revoir Les Enfants (Louis Malle)
Last of the Mohicans (Michael Mann)
Casino (Martin Scorsese)
Stoker (Park Chan-Wok)
Darling (Mickey Keating)

I'm officially part of this HoF now, and not just someone who keeps creeping on the thread haha.

I know comedies don't typically do too well in the General HoFs, but I wanted to go with something a little different. It's a bit of an odd film from one of my favourite directors, so it'll be interesting to see what everyone thinks of it.

I've stopped my back and forth hassle and sent in a nomination. Based on the reactions Tideland has received in the Fantasy HoF, I'm expecting people to hate this one as well. Well, maybe @cricket manages to nominate something that people hate even more

The trick is not minding

Hey, I know the feeling. I took a risk and nominated a documentary, which we all now how bad that went over haha

Mine is also funny, if there's something wrong with you.
most likely contains images of bodily fluids

It's hard to say. I got the impression that you didn't like Tideland and there are certain similarities between that and the film I nominated here. So, I guess it depends on what exactly bothered you in Tideland.

And no, it's not a comedy. I rarely watch them and doubt I'll ever nom one.

I'm not fond of comedies unless they are not American. I like foreign comedy.

You never know with me, I may like your nomination.
