It never worked on my Xperia and doesn’t work on the iPhone. I always have to quote those posts and copy and paste out of the quote.

Star Citizen: Nope Report

As always, Star Citizen is an absurd conglomeration of broken things and scurrilous behaviours. That's the TLDR

Currently it is mainly defined by absences though. The almost complete disappearance of the execs and key production leads. The hilarious silence about Squadron 42, which has been on the cusp of launching every year since 2014. The painfully notional progress in the current game world. The endless cascade of items falling off the various roadmaps...

I could talk about the strange deal one of their shell companies has made with some PSVR specialists to 'develop a game'. Or the strange connections seemingly forming with a flaky VR live events firm. Or the perplexing fountaining of their funding stream while their fanbase apparently burns. Or the decision of their multimedia investors to buy in to the tune of $17.25m more.

Could talk about lots of things.

But this probably sums it all up pretty well...

That magnet came out of nowhere!

Ramps have just become this iconic thing to SC watchers. They've never worked reliably, but they entered some form of cult status when a 2017 Gamescom reveal went like this:

And yeah, they still don't work reliably. In various bizarre ways

Mind you neither do the doors, lifts, or trains. Any of the things that involve transitioning from one bit to another bit basically. And all in ways that tell different little stories about the state of their tech and their struggles to get them working.

But I'll stop there. And just slam some of this down instead before I fall down the rabbit hole again

So does Breath of the Wild get less tedious then the beginning? Maybe my hopes are just insanely high but it's a super highly rated game too

For me, no.

I know I'm a massive outlier here, but the game didn't do a lot for me that I hadn't already seen in many games before.

Hmm, @doubledenim

What were you saying about quoting? I don’t think I understand how you got it working.

I'm probably a little late...I quote a post from Yoda that is blank (assumption being it's a tweet) and the text will show up in the "quote". I then copy it from there and paste to browser to see what it was.

Going through the Kinect back catalogue for family exercise-gaming...

I'm not gonna buy that... (But reckon my kiddo would happily spend all day doing it )

Started Dead Space 2. The gameplay is so much better than the first. But it's really starting to piss me off that I can't actually help anyone. They scream for help and each time I run to them hoping maybe, just maybe I might be able to save one person. Nope, they just die horribly right in front of me. Give me the chance to be a hero! It's the only reason I play video games.

Starting to catch hints of Fall in the air, which has me thinking about playing a From Software title, for some reason. I think it's time to finally play Bloodborne...

Fired up a free trial of PS NOW so I could give Bloodborne a shot. Ah, it's good to be back in the land of From Software. Playing at 720p is pretty lame, but other than that, things have run smoothly. Great game so far!

Spent 40 minutes in this world the other night.

It was very odd.

I liked

I started London 2038 (a fan-made version of Hellgate London with most of the bugs fixed, all the content from the old Flagship test server + some balance and QoL changes, and working online mode) yesterday. I've always liked Hellgate and consider its fate a great tragedy.

I started a thread in the Television subforum here about the Netflix documentary series High Score, about the early days of video games. Great fun. I'm hoping for another season, since they made it to about 1993 at the end of this first season.

I'm enjoying it. I've made it through the first two episodes (maybe three?). It was the one on the NES, starting with sound design for Donkey Kong going through Nintendo Power magazine. Previews for the next episode seem to jump into the Playstation. I haven't started that EP yet, so I don't know for sure. Design an editing are pretty fun of the episodes I've seen.

Do they mention the console wars at all? Particularly the rise and fall of Sega? I'll be disappointed if they only speak to the NES side of the market.

Oh yeah! They get into Sonic and Sega and all that!
