T.V. Actors Into Movie Actors

I have to say that Johnny Depp is one of my favorite T.V. actors to make it into the world of making big movies...I liked him on "21 Jump Street" on T.V. & I love the majority of his movies, he has had some diverse roles: From "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" to his "Pirates of the Carribean franchise", To" Edward Scissor Hands" and his role as "Willy Wonka"---Johnny's first movie was the original "A Nightmare on Elm Street"...My point is he made it from T.V. to having this giant movie career...Who would be your favorite actor that has made the jump from T.V. to movie stardom?? 8-]]

The first I can think of is James Dean. He started out in TV in 1951, and by 1955 he was a bonafide superstar.

Leonardo DiCaprio was also in the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and he started out on TV in the short-lived TV show "Parenthood", and then "Growing Pains".

Another actor who made a very successful transition from TV actor to movie actor is George Clooney. He was on the TV shows "The Facts of Life", a short-lived sitcom called "E/R", "Roseanne", and the drama series "ER".
