John Singleton directed Boyz n the Hood at age 23(!) A director who made some great films and still had great potential, such a sad death.

Of course, Orson Welles made one of the greats - "Citizen Kane"..... I had Orson in my mind shortly after, and don't think anyone can compare to what he did at that age.

I think Christopher Nolan hit the ground Running. Have not seen his first film, but I did see Momento which I enjoyed because I thought it was so unique. I have enjoyed all of the films that I have seen of his since then.
