Totally! Had Halloween in my top 5. In fact, it was totally #5. The movie that totally set the table for the masked slasher craze of the 80's, which totally was an awesome decade for slashers flicks. I know there were earlier films that totally did the same thing (Black Christmas) but how much credit does Cannibal Holocaust receive for the found footage genre? Like none.....totally. I'm not sure it's the greatest hack and slash anymore but it's totally the most influential and should be totally be rewarded as such.

Had Halloween at #7 though it has been a while since seeing it, it does kinda stay with me.

#5 Ju-on: The Grudge (2005) Didn't Make It. Forgot to include this one in my Not Making It
When I rewatched Ju-on: The Grudge for the Countdown, I didn't love it as much as I used to, but I still enjoyed it enough to include it on my list. It was what originally spurred my interest in Japanese horror films, which branched out into Korean ones as well, and it's strange to think that I might have passed over all those other films had I not seen Ju-on first.

The Thing getting top four? Lord, it's not that good!

Polanski's Rosemary's Baby is my numer-o uno. A masterpiece of dread, paranoia, and even dark humor. Horror is my least favorite genre, but every genre can offer masterpieces that transcend the source material, and for me Rosemary's Baby is top of the tops. ALL OF THEM WITCHES.

Looks like my remaining four picks are the top four on the list.

HOLDEN’S LIST
1. Rosemary’s Baby (#7)
2. The Bride of Frankenstein (#68)
5. Get Out (#39)
6. The Blair Witch Project (#34)
7. Night of the Living Dead (#17)
8. Don’t Look Now (#64)
9. Possession (#33)
10. Invasion of the Body Snatchers 1956 (#70)
12. Antichrist (#82)
13. Jacob’s Ladder (#67)
14. It Follows (#78)
15. The Innocents (#20)
16. Freaks (#55)
17. The Babadook (#63)
18. The Fly 1986 (#10)
20. Eyes Without a Face (#46)
21. Near Dark (DNP)

23. Shaun of the Dead (#21)
24. Hereditary (#56)
25. Trouble Every Day (DNP)

I like The Exorcist and I really thought it would be/should be higher--but I didn't vote for it. It was on my list and then I'm not totally sure of my reasoning for taking it off. I still have one final film and I suppose it could possibly finish in the top two. I love Alien and The Thing and I have no problem with them making this countdown but I really do see them, especially Alien, as more science fiction, and so I'm a little disappointed they're placing higher than The Exorcist.
