Movie about 2 preteens who are friends and one tries to kill the other

This is what remember about this movie.

- I watched it like 20 years ago (I am 29 yo now).

-It had a very Now and Then vibe but it was only about two girls who become friends, both like 12 yo. One blonde and the other brunette. The brunette had a bob cut. One of them said that her mother was writing a lame children's book about a oyster (I think) that got lost

-The blonde one was way more street wise and the brunette just tried to keep up with her

-I think they flirted with an older teenager at some point

-At some point, both girls had a fight and the blonde one apparently kills the brunette. I am pretty sure she throwed her at the sea

-A lot of stuff happens but at the end they show that brunette survives since she is found by a group of fishermen.

English. It was dubbed tho

What's the genre type and is it similar to another movie?

At first it was very coming to age (one of the reasons I kept watching it was it reminded me a lot to Now and Then) but it later became something more like The Good Son (you know, that movie with a very young Elijah Wood)
