I've been without a computer for months. Couldn't go without watching porn any longer on my laptop, so I caved. Oh, and I guess that means I'm back on here as well.

Who was banned? Are the IMDB folks still here? How many posts is Dani8 up to now? I need answers.

Ugh, I feel so dirty whenever I see anything pornographic.

You can't win an argument just by being right!

How many posts do you want me to be up to? I can meet your demands.

I wanna seem those fingers bleed, and half of the keys fall off of your computer by Friday. Hop to it!

That happened last week but you werent here to witness I did it for you and only you.

I don't see how you even peruse the internet then.
I guess I don't randomly "peruse" the Internet. I usually have a destination in mind.

STAY THAT WAY!! I make the mistake of randomly wondering if certain things exist in the world, and then hit google images.

I obviously don't like myself very much.

I've accidentally had my eye poked out on occasion when googling something totally not porn related. Nothing like searching for cute puppy photos and getting something not work safe.

Submitted my Master's Thesis a few hours ago. If I pass, I'll finally have that Master's Degree in Applied Economic Sciences.

Time to watch a whole bunch of films now, starting tomorrow.

Hoping I get accepted into my Masters of choice. Achieved a 2:1 in my course (I think) so I am hoping that will be enough!

This can be moved to the UK politics thread when it's back open if you like, but I don't want to focus too much on the individual politics, more just my own story. This is part of the reason I haven't really had much time to be on here any more.

So the last 8/9 weeks I've been really busy. Went to an all member meeting for the Labour party in my constituency (Preseli Pembrokeshire) when the snap general election was called, met the new candidate we had put up and put a lot of member. We all put forward ideas for the campaign, and I offered to help out where I could, in particular with online content and social media as their current stuff was poor or non-existent in certain areas. Since then I've managed their website, Facebook page, created online adverts, graphics, recorded and edited videos, and on top of that I have been out every day all across my county campaigning for our candidate and the party. Has been very tiring and like having two full time jobs but it was great fun and I've met many fantastic people both in the party and on the door step. It's amazing hearing people's stories, convincing people to vote for you and so on.

Here were the votes lasts time:

So had an almost 5,000 majority to overturn, but in theory it was much more challenging too in that a UKIP meltdown was anticipated (and happened) so there would be potentially 3-4,000 votes going to the Conservatives, or at least that's what people thought. I have been to many hustings, and spoken with the candidates of all the parties this election and they all vote it wouldn't even be close, that the Conservatives would easily win with the UKIP vote, and with the fact that despite the national Labour gains in Wales, this constituency is considered "little England beyond Wales" and almost a Conservative safe seat.

I went to the "vote count" where we do vote estimations and make sure votes go in the right places, make decisions on spoiled ballots and so on. Went on all through the night but was great fun. I was talking to the actual counters and they were amazed for how the first time they can remember, how close the vote actually was. You could tell the final count would be incredibly close, and we and they started to believe that our candidate Philippa Thompson could actually do it. She stayed at the side and didn't want to get too involved or carried away in anything understandably.

With all the votes in boxes, our agent did a count in her head and wrote down that she thought we had lost by as few as 300 votes. They called the candidates over and told them the vote was close, I couldn't hear all the specifics but knew the general idea. We had a "flick through recount" making sure piles were in the right boxes, we actually found a pile of 50 in the wrong one (so a 100 vote turn) but then we found the opposite in another, so it balanced back out. Couldn't find anything else unusual and went to accept the result. Stephen Crabb the conservative was re-elected, and by 314 votes.

Was sat that at 5.30am with my hands in my head exhausted, we all were. What can you do at that point? Was great to see prior to that everyone so on edge at the potential outcome of the result. The Conservatives were extremely worried and I bet they never anticipated that at the start of the night. Despite the defeat we were all immensely proud. It's one of those things, more difficult to take in the end because of the actual margin.

I wrote the following on Facebook:

Immensely proud to be a Labour Party member. I joined two years ago when Corbyn was nominated for leader, but didn't become involved on ground level really until a couple of months ago. Since then I have met and campaigned alongside a number of great people including our candidate Philippa Thompson. Was a pleasure to be deeply involved with the election campaign, and after repeatedly being told we wouldn't get near Crabb in this "too strong a Tory" seat, it's amazing to see a +14.5% increase, over 6000 more votes. To miss out on the seat by 314 points was absolutely gutting, but at the same time its a fantastic achievement to build upon. We've made the constituency one of the most marginal in the UK, and with much more time to plan for the next election (or maybe not?) we have a real chance of change next time. This seat goes to show the importance of voting, and I urge people to get involved in the future as we fight for future positive change. Join the party and get involved!
