What's your unpopular movie opinion?

Welcome to the human race...
So don't reply to threads like this. I'm sure there are other avenues of threads in which you can engage in discussion without whining about it.
Yeah, I'm the one that's whining in a thread where 90% of the replies are the same "_____ is overrated" nonsense that's been posted time and time again in any of the multiple other overrated threads that have been put up on this site over the years (and the exchanges are always the same, which I outlined by quoting the first three posts in the thread in succession). At least this particular is about unpopular opinions so you can broaden that to mean "positive" unpopular opinions and not just the usual talk about stuff being overrated. I could talk about how Batman and Robin is one of my favourite Batman movies or that Timothy Dalton is my favourite Bond or whatever else - would certainly be more interesting than "you know how everyone likes that one film? well I don't".

Yeah, it's ridiculous how often these threads are made and how they are always terrible without fail. I'll continue to whine about it until they all at least get merged into one megathread of awfulness.

Wow, you're pretty big in your world, huh? Lighten up, champ. The sun doesn't rise and set by your preferences. Let people carry on. Why do you have to ruin everything?

I am SO tempted to start "ONE MEGATHREAD OF AWFULNESS"!
But it wouldn't be my place to do so since Camo already posed the title.

If you care so much about that, tell it to the people who talk about what they find "overrated". They're the ones framing their personal dislike of a film as if a sufficiently positive general consensus about the film's quality is inherently wrong compared to their own opinion. Besides, as noted by Camo and myself, we have multiple existing threads that are solely about people talking about what they think is overrated and they all look more or less like this one. People name movies, other people disagree, and each of these threads just becomes this hideous, unproductive ouroboros of negativity. At least framing your takes as an "unpopular" opinion concedes that it's just a matter of simple disagreement, but "overrated" carries with it the idea that there is a right way to rate a movie and that most people fail to do so properly. It's a blight on film discourse, pure and simple.

I hear ya. I just can't be bothered about it, I guess. I'm no simpleton, either. I'm too complex. After about the 5th nervous breakdown, I found freedom in just not giving a sh1t anymore about some things. I've learned a lot from those I've deemed fools and have been humbled by freaks of nature too often, but that's another thread.

Among the movies i love the most we have : odd girl out , mean girls , the craft , carrie , jawbreaker , cruel intentions 2 , knock knock , and similar movies .With the only exception of the movie " knock knock " and only partly for " cruel intentions 2 " , i love everything about those movies , except for their endings , they never end in a proper way , i mean , just because someone is a protagonist , it doesn't meant that is supposed to win even if it isn't skilled and intelligent enough to do that ,let's never forget that those movies are supposed to be real and show how those events actually end .In real life , the so called " mean " girls , always win , i mean think about it , is not like they are so organized , skilled and careful to any little detail of their actions only to end up failing in the lust minutes , is not right , it isn't real .There should be movies , were the so called villains obtain what they want , there really are movies of that kind , but not in the category of the movies i mentioned , and i am sure that i am not the only one who think this way , those films should end with the lame protagonist ( and let's be honest , is not possible for someone to just become a decent person all of a sudden like happen in off girl out ) that respect and accept it's role and the real , effective superiority of the " antagonists " along with all the people involved , possible apologizing with them .At least those " mean girls " try to be dignified persons , rather than expect a decent life without do anything about it ( and that's exactly what protagonists do in those movies ) , so they deserve to obtain exactly what they want. The finale of odd girl out is ridiculous o.O ,
it is't real at all , and it didn't happen what it were supposed to happen -.- , infact , a proper final were supposed to be about the lame protagonist that just recognize how stacy is important to her , and how she really is only useful to have some fun with those well organized jokes , she should accept her role , and have deep respect for the fact of be considered useful for the entertainment of those high class girls

"Moonlight" was a total let down.. Boring AF and La La Land wasn't much better either. The musical numbers saved the film from total boredom.

Casablanca & Citizen Kane are unwatchable, IMO.
I don't know if they are unwatchable, but I have never had any desire to watch either one. I know this is not the first thread on this subject, so I wanted to check I hadn't already posted anything else here, but here are some of my most unpopular movie opinions:

Crash deserved the Oscar for Best Picture of 2005

Forrest Gump robbed Pulp Fiction of the Oscar for Best Picture of 1994

2001: A Space Odyssey bored the crap out of me.

Mary Tyler Moore should have won the 1980 Best Actress Oscar for Ordinary People

There was nothing sexy or attractive about Ava Gardner and she couldn't act either.

TIna Fey should have received an Oscar nomination for her screenplay for Mean Girls

No way Oliver! should have won the 1968 Best Picture Oscar, it was the weakest of the five films nominated.

Jessica Lange should have won the 1982 Best Actress Oscar for Frances

This might just do nobody any good.

Forrest Gump robbed Pulp Fiction of the Oscar for Best Picture of 1994
Is this really unpopular? I figured anyone who's seen both films agreed PF was the strongest but I usually underestimate how much people like their scoops of sugar.

That said, Pulp Fiction itself is sort of an aimless masterpiece. No real message can be derived from it aside from, I guess, don't ride in a car with loaded guns.

I'm kind of surprised that Ordinary People overshadows Quiz Show, Redford's real contribution to film behind the camera. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine film with great performances but it has nothing how sharp, unflinching and how ******* cynical Quiz Show.

Well maybe that can be an unpopular opinion of mine...that Pulp Fiction is a masterpiece because it's gotten very fashionable to bash the film around here as of late.

I have never been able to get through Oridinary People. Have no clue why it was so popular.

Pulp Fiction & Reservoir Dogs are both masterpieces & I never tire of watching them.

My unpopular opinion:
This is easy to read.

'Boyhood' is Overrated Melodrama that's praised only because of It's gimmick
'Captain America: Civil War' is typical Marvel Mainstream Garbage
'Gravity' is a visual spectacle with nothing else of substance
'Mad Max: Fury Road' is praised for being a "masterpiece" only because of mindless action and explosions, seriously, **** that movie.
'Reservoir Dogs' is Tarantino's Best Film. (Fight Me.)
All of Marvel's MCU Filmography is largely overrated mindless entertainment.
Zack Snyder is one of the Worst Filmmakers working today.
'The Departed' is Scorsese's Best Film. (Again, Fight Me.)
'Interstellar' is Christopher Nolan's Best Film.
Leonardo Dicaprio isn't a Good Actor.

Mary Tyler Moore should have won the 1980 Best Actress Oscar for Ordinary People
Couldn't agree more and I thought Ordinary People was a terrific movie. I want to say that Good Will Hunting owes a few to OP. Both great films.

You can't win an argument just by being right!

I havent seen Boyhood. I dont even know what it's about.

Yes Yes Yes to Gravity. Has to be seen in 3D so you can reach for those tears, otherwise it's a cheesefest of schmaltzy dialogue.
Fury Road - if I had my time again I would just watch the trailer. Should have been called There And Back Again.

Oh I have a couple and I'd be happy to justify all of them but just for the sake of listing them, here they are -

1) Jean-Luc Godard is the most overrated filmmaker the world has ever seen, closely followed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. When I think of the films I've hated more than any other, the 3 films that immediately come to mind are Film Socialism, Babel, 21 Grams.

2) There Will Be Blood is a better film than both Citizen Kane and the Godfather.

3) The Clockwork Orange is a polemic, self-righteous, obnoxiously ham-handed satire that possesses all of Kubrick's worst traits as a director. It doesn't even compare to the compassionate maturity of Barry Lyndon or the narrative ambition of 2001.

4) Coppola's Apocalypse Now doesn't hold a candle to Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line, a genuine masterpiece of filmmaking and his The Conversation is a needless attempt at replicating Antonioni's masterful Blow up.

5) The original Star Wars film is the textbook example of all spectacle and no depth.

6) Steven Spielberg's best decade as a filmmaker were the 2000s where he make 2 of his greatest films - A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Munich - the former being an immortal masterpiece that stands, in my opinion, among the greatest achievements of the cinematic medium and the latter being the first definitive post-9/11 film (Btw Minority Report was also a great film).

7) Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers was one of the best and most under appreciated films of 2012, a cinematic pop song about all that defines the modern era.

There are several others but I shall leave it at that for the time being,
