Wow – it's a surprise to see a Doctor Who-related question. Other choices there could have been Rowan Atkinson and Joanna Lumley (which might have given the game away ).

Passepartout (Phineas Fogg's manservant from "80 Days Around the World")

Alfred Molina, Ian Holm, Tony Randall
Again, incredibly, Poirot . Molina and Holm sound interesting in theory. I'm not enthusiastic about Kenneth Branagh playing him in the upcoming film.

John Hurt, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård

I agree with you about Branagh. Right now, of all the performances of Poirot that I've seen (I haven't seen Holm's), Molina's is my least favorite because I don't think he's anything like the Poirot I read about in the books.

King Hrothgar (from Beowulf)

Peter Fonda, John Voight, Rod Steiger

I agree with you about Branagh.
I found Kenneth Branagh's Wallander extremely overrated and sometimes painful to watch. Rolf Lassgård is my favourite and I think the closest to the character in the books, but I also like Krister Henriksson, who intentionally played an 'interpretation' of the character to make it fresh. Totally different acting style as well with Henriksson, much more internal.

You probably know the character in the books better than me – I've only read Hercule Poirot's Christmas (which was very good) – but I love David Suchet. Peter Ustinov was great as well. It's incredible how around that time there were so many definitive takes on characters like Poirot (Suchet); Miss Marple (Joan Hickson); Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett); and I'd even add Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane (Edward Petherbridge & Harriet Walter).

Think you might have to put us out of our misery with this one .

But Not Slight of Mind or Tongue...
Adolf Hitler

Ben Kingsley, Dustin Hoffman, Richard Dreyfuss

Van Helsing

Somebody else take it.
I thought Van Helsing, but what threw me is that Jon Voight is playing a Leonardo Van Helsing – not Abraham as in the Dracula story.

Ben Kingsley, Dustin Hoffman, Richard Dreyfuss
Meyer Lansky
*in Bugsy, The Lost City, and "Lansky"

NEXT:
Dan O'Herlihy, Edward Hermann, Kenneth Branagh
