This might just do nobody any good.
I was sort of holding out on this one but if a movie like Shame is fair game then I may as well.

Only Hugh Keays-Byrne can play Immortan Joe. He's a staple in the franchise.

And I got to ask… why not Mel as Max. In '94 he still had his credibility.

Wouldn't have been the correct age for Joe. In 1997 he wouldn't have hit 50 yet.

How did you like my X-Men: First Class trilogy casts?

This might just do nobody any good.
Since when is being younger a bad thing? Miller planned the movie since after Thunderdome I can only assume he had Byrne and Gibson in mind.

I also don't like First Class so my input on those probably wouldn't be constructive.

I guess I meant by the First Class Trilogy was X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse.

I thought it would be interesting to see Mouth to Mouth with Ellen Paige recast with Maisie Williams. I mean, Ellen Paige was superb in it, but I'd love to see how that movie would have turned with Maisie Williams.

Or Hard Candy. I could see Maisie Williams playing that character.

That's interesting – what didn't you like about it?

Nice! I'm a massive Silmarillion fan.

Luthien would have to be the most beautiful actress that could be found, Vikander does fit though. What about kit Harrington for Beren.

Micheal Mann is a bit past it unfortunately, my all time fav Director too.

You want Iñarritu directing a Tolkein adaptation? He seems too intense for it. You need a sense of levity that always seems lost on him.

That's interesting – what didn't you like about it?
I never took to the X-Men movies (aside from DoFP) but First Class in particular felt really forced upon and light in comparison to the thematic weight of the previous ones.

Have you read The Children of Hurin? I've read it, and it's pretty intense. Among other things, we have hopeless battles, guys getting stripped naked and chased until they run off cliffs, accidental murders and accidental incest.

No, I haven't. That all sounds pretty intense so I guess it would work…

So did you like my Days of Future Past casting?
It's good. I like mine more
