All I can think of a black and white movie that has a scary black cat in it is 1932 The Black Cat starring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi.

I remember watching a movie. The neighbor was a white woman. She performed some ritual and then either took possession of the black cat or somehow controlled it. The cat would then go and terrorize the neighbors. I want to find this movie and thought that the attached picture might be a clue. I’m pretty sure the movie was in color.
