What was the last DVD you bought and why?

I picked this up today at Barnes & Noble... I enjoy films based off classic novels... 3 of my top 5 English films are based off classical literature... Plus I enjoy historical films as well...

(the 3 of my top 5 English films are 1. "A Clockwork Orange", and the other 2 fit anywhere in the other 4 spots "Count of Monte Cristo" and "Pride and Prejudice")

A loving heart is the truest wisdom.
Picked up copies The Last Unicorn and a two in one copy of Star Trek: Wrath of Khan and The Journey Home yesterday at McKay's. It's been years since I've seen any of them and I wanted to see how well they hold up.

The Bib-iest of Nickels
I bought these:

They were all individual-cased, brand-new and only six bucks... I call that a bargain.

Fight Club, the movie is brilliant and unlike anything I've ever seen. Also, a second viewing seems almost necessary to fully enjoy the experience

The Bib-iest of Nickels
What's the first film?
Park Chan Wook directed it. (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance, Stoker, ... OLDBOY!)

My online rental doesn't seem to have this film on blu-ray and I've been waiting for it to come down in price because it was nearly Ł20 most places for some reason and it finally has:

This is random, ... but I appreciate your Sin City signature.

I've been "Double Dipping" my DVD/Blu-Ray purchases as of late:

http://www.criterion.com/films/28046-red-river
http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/red-river/

Their comparisons:

Personally, I enjoy the MoC version, at least in transfer, better than I like Criterion. Not saying Criterion is a bad transfer... but it all depends on what you're going for in the film. With MoC the picture quality tends to lean more towards darker shading which makes the skylines come out more I feel, especially in the clouds. Whereas Criterion gives more of a "wash out"/"hotter" desert feel. I like them both... but I think the contrast between land and sky is greater in the MoC version.

I also got this:

and this
http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/f-for-fake/

From MoC, (again "Double Dips")

Other notable purchases:

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/Reviews/leila.htm#l
Gravity (DVD+Blu-Ray)
Double-Dip of Stagecoach Two Disc (non-Criterion, already own the Criterion version)
The Searchers (Ultimate Collectors edition DVD, another Double-Dip, I own the Blu-Ray)

That's all for now.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
When you watch it, see if you can make sense of his comments about the ending because they make it clear that he has no clue what he's talking about. (He says that maybe it had something to do with what the film shows is a physical impossibility.)
