Anyone on here read any of his stuff? Got The Grapes of Wrath and The Winter of Our Discontent for Christmas and only just started reading them - thanks to being busy with schoolwork.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
The Grapes of Wrath is great. If you haven't read Chapter 3, jump to that. It's a short, self-contained story about a desert turtle trying to cross a road. In and of itself, it's amazingly vital, but in the context of the novel, it takes on added power.

My IMDb page

One of my favorite writers. The Grapes of Wrath is my favorite book of all time, and East of Eden isn't far behind.

I've read Of Mice and Men (required reading in my school), In Dubious Battle, The Red Pony (school assignment) and The Pearl (another school assignment). Aside from Of Mice and Men, which I enjoyed and which was adapted into one of my favorite movies, I don't remember a whole lot about them.
