The MoFo Top 100 Action Movie Countdown

I was just messing about.

I do like Highlander though. The problem with Highlander is that it was tarnished by the sequels and TV series.

Same. It did come free with the News of the World or something years ago though . I still have it it came in a cardboard disk cover, never watched it though.

Also whenever anyone refers to the character they call him The Highlander so that's why i made the mistake. And Facebook was originally called The Facebook

I didn't vote for RoboCop because I was stupid. I picked other more action-packed movies above it, but looking back it should've had a place on my list...

Con Air is awesome, dumb, cheesy fun. Star Wars is not one I'm a fan of, I like the sequel better and think it "qualifies more" as an action movie than the first. Lethal Weapon is a seres that needs a proper walkthrough from me.

"""" Hulk Smashhhh."""
Can't believe Roadhouse didn't make this list. What the hell is wrong with you people.

Welcome to the human race...
Couldn't go even one round without getting it wrong, could I?

RoboCop was my #17. Kind of an easy choice that doesn't really need to be talked about in detail.

I remember really liking Léon when I first saw it but it's been a long time and I get the feeling that I might not like it if I ever revisit it. I do like Con Air, but I honestly didn't expect it to crack the list at all, let alone the top 20. It makes me wonder if there are a bunch of Homestucks on this site. Star Wars is Star Wars. Lethal Weapon is a movie I wished I like more than I actually do, but it's definitely not bad.

As for the hons - Highlander and Road House are enjoyable enough slabs of cheese, while Oldboy is sort of like Léon in that I really liked it at first but I worry that revisiting it will actually ruin it for me.

Nothing good comes from staying with normal people
20. Leon: The Professional *Repeated self-face slapping as punishment for forgetting to put Leon on the list* No other comment.
19. Robocop My #23, but would have been the one to go if I'd remembered Leon, along with some placement changes.
18. Con Air #28 and a hard loss, but the rest of them were simply better.
17. Star Wars: A New Hope Will watch these again for the sci-fi top 100, but have never been real favourites. Solid movie and solid choice, though.
16. Leathal Weapon My #7. You can't not like a movie which has a mudfight between Gary Busey and Mel Gibson.

Honerables

That Higlander (#2) and Oldboy (#19) didn't make this list is a dissapointment, though.

Road House is kinda good.

RoboCop was on my list at #14. And while I tried to avoid having multiple films from one franchise on my list, I did put Lethal Weapon at 18. Con Air was on my short list, but didn't quite make the final cut. I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars (I'm more of a Star Trek person), and I wasn't quite sold on Léon, but they're both fine films.

I've had seven show up on the countdown, so far. I think I have eight more that will probably show in the top fifteen, but not my other ten. Those ten aren't even making it as so-called honorable mentions, which means there are a bunch of them where I must be just about the only MoFo who named 'em. Which is cool by me.

4. The Wild Bunch (#44)
5. Léon: The Professional (#20)
6. Heat (#34)
7. North by Northwest (#89)
14. RoboCop (#19)
16. True Lies (#29)
19. The Raid: Redemption (#33)

You can't make a rainbow without a little rain.
Lethal Weapon (1987) - I considered Lethal Weapon and (Lethal Weapon 2) for my list, but I haven't seen them in years, so I couldn't really separate them in my mind to rank them properly, so they ended up getting cut from my list instead.
Star Wars IV: A New Hope (1977) - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope is my favorite of all the Star Wars movies, and it was #2 on my list.
Con Air (1997) - I've only seen the first few minutes of this movie, and it looked like a fun movie, but I've never seen the rest of the movie.
RoboCop (1987) - I haven't watched RoboCop in years, but I remember it being a very good movie, but a bit too violent for my taste. I'll probably rewatch it for the Sci-Fi Countdown if I can.
Leon: The Professional (1994) I haven't seen this movie, but it's one of Hubby's favorites. He even has a statue from the movie of some guy, (probably Leon), hanging upside down and shooting a gun.

Honorable Mentions:
Highlander (1986) - I've seen this movie, and it was interesting, but definitely not a favorite for me.
Oldboy (2003) - I've heard this movie mentioned here on MoFo, but I know nothing about it except it looks very violent.
Road House (1989) - This movie is a bit too violent for my taste, but it's a very good movie.

My List:
2. Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
3. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)
5. The Avengers (2012)
6. Jurassic Park (1993)
11. The Fugitive (1993)
12. Smokey and the Bandit (1977)
14. GoldenEye (1995)
15. Twister (1996)
