I had to decide how I was really going to use the new laptop. MOST of the time a Chromebook would have been enough. But every so often I need to use InDesign while on vacation (doing the church bulletin from afar, for instance) or want to use Scrivener.

And the Asus was really inexpensive so I let that be the deciding factor. The good news is that the older MacBook Pros I'll be selling on eBay (two!) will net me enough money to pay for the Asus.

...mostly.
Mostly what?

Trust me, I'll get more with the MacBooks than I paid for the Asus. Not by much, perhaps, but I will. (I would have bought the Asus anyway, but it'll be sweeter to recoup the money spent by unloading the two MacBooks.)

Yeah, as long as you don't need to use a lot of apps (Office, or other work stuff), Chromebooks are fine.
