I would prefer if you referred to my double d as Dirty Di-ana, nyooooo 🤩
Double C for Double D. Btw, have you seen the user Double F? Skipped right over Double E, I guess.
The new double-clutch systems, etc. , are faster than a human can shift.

But...the manual experience is valued by me and the lack of the eventual auto trans replacement are motivating factors.

Agreed on both. Honestly, I think owning a car is one day going to be like owning a horse. Expensive and done by only a few.

And I love having a 6 spd. There is no greater feeling than being tuned into the workings of your transmission when driving. Now if I can just stop accidentally slipping into 3rd when I'm not paying attention and trying to hit 5th.
I've read more than one article stating that automatic transmissions have evolved enough that there is no great benefit to owning/driving a standard transmission anymore. Which is fine with me. I hated driving stick, especially starting out on a steep grade. I mean, I could do it... but I still hated it.
These days it’s just about cost. The manual is usually a couple thousand cheaper.

And yeah, I will say the reliability has been an amazing perk.

So I’ll be able to buy a new car in another 36 years.
Hubby never liked buying new cars, either, but broke down and got me a new car in 2010, grumbling the whole time. $15K, brand new Cobalt with a bunch of the trimmin's. Free inspections every year from the dealer. Amazingly, that car is now 10+ years old, passes inspection every year, and has almost nothing wrong with it (except I need to clean out the trunk, ha ha).

He got so tired of having to fix this and that little thing on our used cars. So now he's sold on buying new (but from a reputable dealer) because he hasn't had to fix anything on a vehicle in about a decade.

I just like ze control!

But I did break part of my foot a year ago and now shifting is kinda not fun anymore. Those few months in the boot were hysterical. I consider myself a pro for grinding only once. I was driving like an old man.
Or, I guess "not 4th" makes more sense given the lack of any safety feature on my old 240z.
or *kKrrTTcchhhhggrnnnn-gnnn-nnnnnn* CRAP! that's not 6th!
