Totally normal. Most people are apprehensive about having their voice recorded and more to hear it played back. Like having your picture taken. Some people just cannot stand having it done. The more you do it though, the easier it gets hearing yourself played back.

On you get past that stage, you will start to notice certain mannerisms and inflections you probably otherwise would not hear in yourself as you speak. If you can get past the anxiety of the event, you can then start to edit yourself as you speak/sing to compensate for whatever. For example, I tend to mumble naturally. When I sing I have to make a conscious effort to slightly over-enunciate my words to balance it on playback.

Honestly, you're probably going to spend most of your time at first just figuring out the interface of your new device. Then figuring how to control your position to the mic for difference effects and volume control.

You got headphones? You might want to quickly google your Tascam device to see what type of headphone out it has, if any. It may be a 1/4" out instead of your normal 1/8". If so, and you don't have a 1/4" headphone plug you can buy a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter at Best Buy. Maybe Wal*Mart.

Way more than you asked. Sorry.

Normal.. "'His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgettin'"

Makes a lot of sense.
The plus sign
It’s so divine
Sends tickles down the spine
"It's one louder, innit?"
Like an A+. Slightly higher than but not enough for another rank-up.
Why do people add a "+" after rating?
