How often does that actually happen, though?
At least twice probably, but I've been too lazy to change my list.
I suppose that's fair. I'm trying to think of the last time I saw a film that might have deserved such an honour - It's Such A Beautiful Day probably comes the closest.
When I saw The Spectacular Now I honestly felt no remorse in rebuilding my list. And Im sure few might not give it that honor but it was one of those “right story at the right time” sorta things.

Yeah, well, technically I let my to-review pile grow into the hundreds but eh, this isn't a pissing contest.

As long as it means I also get away with posting multiple consecutive shouts, that should be fine.
And sorry to interrupt the actual movie talk, just didn't see this before now and I try to respond directly to all moderation-related questions.
I actually have struggled with what to make public by default. As Vicky mentioned, I'll gladly explain the reason to anyone. But I prefer to do so privately because I'm not trying to publicly shame people or make a spectacle out of the bannings. On the other hand, this leads to a lot of public speculation which sometimes defeats the purpose.

It's a tough problem.

Vicky's correct on both counts. Most of the time it's because the post is deleted (it's "soft" deleted so we still have copies/proof, if it's ever required), and occasionally it's because of something sent privately. The latter's pretty rare though.

I can't think of anything offhand. If someone's a member in good standing I'll usually just remove it and issue a warning. Insta-bans usually only happen for a) spam or b) someone who posts something awful almost immediately after signing up. In every case with a long-term member there's been a lot of ramp-up and plenty of opportunities to avoid it.
Must be nice.
Man, I'm way delayed with reviews. I've got 4 movies to write about!
